Author Topic: How to add environment maps to library?  (Read 12789 times)

Hey guys,

I want to add some HDRI that I got, mix of .HDR and .EXR files.
I set up a filter under my 'user library folder' - redirect to the folder where I put all of them using 'URL' - but nothing is showing up.  Is there a different way to add them?

Thanks!

Hey zurhoch,

what exactly do you mean by 'User Library folder' and 'redirect to'?
Let me explain how to add Environment Maps into the Substance Designer Library (assuming that you know the very basics of how to use the Library)

1. Add the Location to the Substance Designer Preferences to use in the Library (Desktop, for instance)
2. Name the Folder with all the Maps in it 'EnviroMaps'
2. Create a Filter and Edit it using 'All,url, contains': EnviroMaps.

Then all your maps from this folder should show up. If you have completely now idea how to add filters and adding new folders to the Substance Preferences for use in the Library, take a look here:

Hi,

I recently created a tutorial on how to do this. It shows the use of adding substances, but you can do the same thing for environment maps, models, textures. For the filtering, see the attached image. You just set it to bitmap.
