Author Topic: Maya plugin creates artifacts in exr height and normal maps  (Read 401 times)

Hallo, I am working with maya 2020.1 and latest plugin version (reinstalled a couple of times) - baked maps for height and normal have these strange artifacts (see https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AoI6LjntUZtmgzqzdxbHFUx5L2lGFfzi/view?usp=sharing). I have tried with redshift as well as arnold workflow with same result.

I have tried changing the resolution with same result.

The original shader Thermal insulation panel purchased from subst source, has no issues in substance  design - height and normal maps appears correct in output nodes.

Thank you for your kind repllies and have a great day!

EDIT: I have found out that the issue arises only for Thermal insulation panel purchased from Subst SOURCE

It might have a less standard image encoding, such as something with 16-bit.

I'll take a look at it.

oookk Thank you!!

Can definitely reproduce this with this sbsar, might have an edge case with it. Those are encoded as 32 bit values, and it looks like they're not being sampled correctly for some reason.

We will look at having it fixed for the next patch release.
