Author Topic: GLTF 2.0 support  (Read 1772 times)

It's a new open source file format developed by the Khronos Group(the people who make Vulkan and OpenGL). You can find information on it here https://github.com/KhronosGroup/glTF. And here's a article by a Godot developer explaining its advantages https://godotengine.org/article/we-should-all-use-gltf-20-export-3d-assets-game-engines. I know this might not be a huge priority since neither Unity or Unreal support it yet. But I say the sooner we can make the industry less dependent on FBX the better.

We are looking closely at GLTF, we'll likely have more information soon.
