Author Topic: Convert Specular/Gloss to Metal/Roughtness withing Substance Painter.  (Read 1898 times)

Can you convert a project made with Specular/Glossiness to one with Metal/Roughness? I know it is possible with Substance Designer. But is it also possible within Substance Painter?

There is no tool inside Substance Painter that allow to do that at the moment. However you should be able to make a substance filter in Substance Designer that allow to convert the channels from one workflow to the other one.

Maybe it's an idee to add a conversion option, to convert an existing project from secular to mealiness?

That's not really doable, because of the blending modes (some don't have an opposite like add/subtract), materials and brush stroke being individuals, you can't convert each one of them from one workflow to one another, you won't get the same result in the end.
