Also, how much will the total price be?

I am trying to make sure about how the heck to upgrade and get my definitive versions with Substance Painter 2.

Why is this still such a hard process to do? I'm having a hard time trying to get this to work, spent a few hours trying to debug...followed the process, experimented on my own. Why are these prebuilt "working" functions not already part of the plugin? This should be a very simple process to allow us users to duplicate instances on different BPs with ease.

I am surprised there's no tutorial on this yet. But at very least, try to add some functionality and make it more user friendly!

I don't think this is a bug. If you try to show the mesh in the 3D view it can't be displayed, because it needs to be relocated. Substance Designer can't find the mesh and shows nothing.

Which is why I relocated it and tried to view it in the 3D View...

Maybe I didn't explain my bug splat enough.

Relocate the Mesh (that had to be relocated, since you had the yellow warning sign)
Click on it to make it appear on the 3D view, it doesn't.
Reload the SBS, shows up as intended.

So, this is a reproducible bug as I (un)luckily had a lot of assets that I had to relocate.

To reproduce:

a. Right click on the model that needs to Relocate under resources.
b. Look at 3D View. Nothing shows up.

(Tried zooming, in, etc, can't see a thing)

If you close the SBS file and reopen it, and then double click on your model under resources, it shows up as intended. Small, annoying little bug with a workaround for the moment.

I guess I don't like change:( Or maybe it's the color scheme... Too bad those color blocks on the top right don't change it:( Hmmm, still extremely weird. I wonder why the change?

But while we are on the subject of change....can you please allow us to get to the Main Page of OR our personal accounts via the forums? Like Clicking that top left Allgorithmic should take us there not the forums. But maybe just adding another link would do. Thanks!

Seems like you posted over the weekend? Are they allowed some small break after their long 5 day workweek? But you're not the only one with 5.3.1 issues. Just revert until they fix their bugfixes that bugged other things out.

We can't see your pics. But if you look in the top of this browser page, you'll see a Search tab in between Home and Profile. Type in your problem (seams), be very broad at first. I am sure someone else has had the same problem before. Actually, I guarantee it.

In 5.3.1 PUUSH.( is partly broken. It's a screenshot capture thing, very small. Anyway, I can't use the CAPTURE AREA screenshot mode inside SD itself, but once I am out, it'll appear. So, PUUSH Full Screen and Current Window Screenshots work, but not the capture area. Somewhat annoying if I just want to highlight a certain part and send it to Slack or something.

Edited for clarity. In 5.3 it DID work as intended. I had to revert back to 5.3 because 5.3.1 had too many other bugs I could not deal with.

Can you send us the mesh?

What happens when you hit the F or R key ? (Focus  / Reset)

I can confirm this bug as well..usually before, you can DOUBLE CLICK on the Linked Resource Mesh and it'll bring it up in the 3D View...this does NOT happen anymore....I am stuck with this damn cube... #sadlife

I tried to drag the little sucker into the 3D View, that had no affect either. #doublesadlife

Reverting back to 5.3, I can live with all the bugs and crashes in 5.3...I can't live without seeing my mesh:(

ReConfirmed? Reaffirmed? Affirmed? that in 5.3 it works. 5.3.1 does not work. Oh does PUUSH capture area...wth

The ability in any node that has those two options to keep the same default/selection used as the previous one. It make pumping out SVG nodes much faster. Thanks!

You use a Color ID Map, which you can (and should) make inside your Modeling Application. Just color the polygons/shells/areas you want different materials applied to. And then you bake that map inside Substance using the Convert UV to SVG, and using the Color Mode: Material ID Color. Then you use that SVG to drive your Color ID (mask) on Multi-blend

It looks like your drivers are a bit old, can you update and see if it makes any changes ? (just to make sure it's not a driver related issue).

Not according to Nvidia GeForce Experience: But You are right...Sigh Nvidia...Sigh Geforce Experience. Which is weird because I do remember DLing drivers pretty recently, so must be a bug on their end. Thanks for looking out;)

The information stickied on this subforum is not current. Please update. For now, here's my bug report, I've crashed multiple times for various reason, all started with the new Iray build though. Iray kills my audio constantly, and hang ups my system randomly. Not using Iray, SD still crashed on saves and other things, just randomly, nothing solid that I can tell.

Please update your Report Bug email/sticky. Also, would be nice to be able to just sent you directly the LogFile right after we create it. As in...upload to your database.'s not my system, unless my 1 year old rig is ancient:

1. For someone who does not own any tools like Marmoset Toolbag will iRay be a good alternative?

In therm of quality, yes. Iray is a good alternative to Toolbag (it's actually a lot better: real reflections/GI, real DoF...etc). However SD does not provide options such as turntables.

My other option is Blender cycles but I am yet to find a good workflow for getting PBR rendering in cycles.

I've made a Cycle material that take basecolor/metallic/roughness maps as input. I still have to share it.. Ask me in pm.

2. If you are using AMD, will iRay rendering be worth for you to move to Nvidia?

Yes, the difference between CPU only and GPU rendering is worth it.

3. In the meantime for the CPU option, what are the setting that you are using to get a grain free render?

More time. Iray does not have any exotic parameters like other renderer.
4. Any advise on a decent Nvidia card under £ 250?

Maybe you can find GeForce 970 around this price..

Are you confirming Turntable Soon?
