Hi Jeremie,

So basically I would start with a simple material template and apply the gradient node to the diffuse channel I am guessing?

2.  Is there any adjustments needed in substance for the manufacture's rgb value to be accurate?   In Max you have to do a conversion to get the rgb value to match the Manufacture's rgb.  I hope that it's straight forward in Subtance and I can just plug in the same values as the manufacture?

Hi,
Thanks in advance for any help.  I have a Listello tile, and when I show it in Max it is upside down.  Please see attached and notice that the material is on the front sides and top too.

Please note that I know that I can rotate in 3ds Max, and I would just like to know if there is a way to correct this in Substance based on the attached image?  Maybe if the Listello did not wrap around the top it would come in correct?

Hi,
I want to take one of the existing sbs concrete tile packages save it out with different name and add some nodes to modify it.
I need to change the color and offset the tiles by half.

I hope that I can do this to existing packages, that is to be able to add nodes to them and change as I need to?

I also have a jpeg of the actual color of the tile that I am trying to recreate, and I would like to know where to put that node to change the color via jpeg possibly.

Hi Jeremie,

That's exactly what I did.  I created a new substance and copied the standard template in to the new graph then imported the bitmap because the links are not working so well and I want all materials to be in the client folder that is on the unc path.  At least I am able to make the material as long as I do it on the mapped path then when I am done I copy all back to the client's 3ds Max scene assets.

I really wish that these substances could be on the UNC path.  I have so many paths now because 3ds Max is on UNC and the same exact folders are mapped for substances.  A lot of redundancy unfortunately.

See attached.  I am hopeful that I can do network rendering with substances in 3ds max with all of these paths?  I am just starting to get in to Backburner to save time while rendering and to also be able continue to work while rendering.

Problem Solved:
Apparently the problem was that everything must be on a Mapped path in order for it to work.  Now I will have to do all in the mapped paths then copy over to the project's folders that are all on the UNC path for 3ds MAX reasons.

I wish that this program could also work in a UNC path enviornment, especially since that is the preferred method in 3ds Max in terms of searching for materials and network rendering etc...,

Hello,

I am trying to publish this material and I get an error message about a cooker?
Please see attached.

Any help would be appreciated.  I am using the standard template for a substance material and I simply brought my jpg in both ways by importing and linking and connected all of the nodes with their appropriate maps, and I cannot get it to publish?

Hi,
I was trying to see all of my stough in the library and I removed a few paths and now it's working better except I cannot publish a substance.  I keep getting this error about a cooker?
The setup is:
I have the same folders on a UNC path and a Mapped path, because 3ds Max prefers UNC paths and Substance prefers mapped paths.  It's really a problem because everything is on a unc path from projects to all.

Not sure what to do?
Right now I just want to publish my materials.

Hi,
The program is running very slow, and I am wondering if it's because I have all of my materials are on the network opposed to accessing them on my local c drive?
Whenever I load a bitmap and import and or link it, the program takes a very long time to retrieve the bitmap.  It just spins and spins even when it's the only program running.

Furthermore, I am unable to publish texture.  Please see attached.

Thoughts are to put the whole database back on my local drive and or skip the library all together and just go online like I use to search for materials in the database.

Hi,

Please see strange image with a cutout on the box after applying a gamma map starting with substance in to gamma map then connected to A&D Diffuse.

I would prefer not to disable the gamma in settings because most materials come in fine with my 1.8 setting.

Hi,
Can Quicksilver render Substance Designer materials in 3ds Max?
Currently when I use Quicksilver renderer on my Substance materials in Max 2014, they come out completely white?

It would be great if I could use Quicksilver rendering for quick color studies?

The error message only appears with standard materials not A&D.
Yes, it does still render.

Attached is a photo and when I changed the driver from Nitrous Direct 3D 11 to direct3d 9.0 the material shows more accurately in the scene and the problem would still be how to address visually in Slate?    I hope that their is a way to get Substance materials to look close in Substance Player and in Max, so I know when I import them in to Max I will know what to expect?

Please advise and note with with the previous version, I had to reset a setting in Max in the substance material settings to make the materials look the same in both programs.  Do you remember the setting?

Hi,

(2) questions.

1. Just loaded the cherry wood sbsar file in to 3ds Max and it does not look accurate or compare to what I see in Substance Designer?

2. An error message is displayed when I render the cherry Wood substance as follows:
  205 MB error: Texture map "Map #58  ( Map Output Selector )" is not supported by mental ray and will not render

Please advise,
