Hello,

Thanks in advance.  I am really curious how you would use this attached jpgs and cleanly change the colors in Alchemist?
Please note I've tried another jpeg Hydraulic Blue and the colors end up rasterized and sketchy.

Would it make sense to go into photoshop or adobe illustrator 1st or can this be handled in Alchemist?

Hi Baptiste,

I guess I was expecting the resolution to carry over from Alchemist and simply setting the parent to same resolution of the exported Alchemist .sbs worked!

Hi,

I simply started SD then opened the exported .sbs from Alchemist in SD.
Now it seems that a conversion is going on in SD via transform that must be set to
Parent after opening Alchemist exported .sbs in SD?
Please confirm.

In addition, would I expose the Alchemist created parameters in SD via the bitmaps or transforms or both?

Hi,

Thanks in advance for any help on this issue.  I recently created a material in Alchemist following a tutorial and exported the material in to Substance Designer to see how it would transpire, and I noticed that export resolution at 2048 was only on the bitmaps and the transforms came in at 256?  I ended up changing them to match the 2048 and am curious why they came in at that resolution when I exported the material in Alchemist at 2048?

Please advise and see attached picture showing the different resolution nodes.

Hello,

I am following a tutorial on the wood_planks.tif and instead of having the tiles tool in the layers panel, I have the Make it Tile Advanced, and there is no option for the section box to get at specific areas to fix lining up of the seams.
Is this somewhere else or do I simply have to rely only on threshold, x/y and cloning to fix?
I would prefer to get to specific areas using a section box rather than relying only on settings to correct.

Thanks in advance if there are any new guidelines for importing svg patterns from Adobe Illustrator?
Recently, I have been working in AI and I know there were issues in the past with svg imports, so
I am hoping that there is a sure methodology now since Adobe owns both products.
Please note I would prefer to import file over linking. I am not sure of current export methods and what to expect
when you have multiple paths with more than (4) colors.  Are there limitations in terms of paths and colors on a single import?  Can I edit the paths right in Substance Designer to separate colors?

Hi,

I figured out that my problem was that the label did not have the same name.  Once I copied the graph name into the label, all material bitmaps went into UE4 with their identifiable same names.

I would really like to have a setting where I could set the package name, graph name and the label to all be the same name.  This would save so much copy paste time.

If there is any way to do this I would appreciate this time saver very much!
Please advise is possible?

Yes, there is a list of rules and too many in my opinion.

The Substance to Arnold is awesome except in MY Case - when you start to collect a long list of those materials and then add them to a 3ds Max Material library and or apply those S To A .mats to objects - 3ds Max starts to crash. I have been talking to Autodesk along with sending comparison libraries of both stand alone Arnold and Substance To Arnold of same materials and they reveal how Substance To Arnold file sizes are considerably larger. I am hoping that allegorithmic can somehow keep the material parameters of Subtance To A, and loose the bloat in the conversion process. 
Nonetheless I am glad that the User Path setting worked out for you!

When I try to import a sbsar from network location, the name of the material does not carry over to UE4.
I really don't want to copy past names, as I plan to import multiple sbsar materials.

Please advise and note that I have the latest plugin available and am on UE4 V 4.21.2.
Please also note that I did both downloaded from Market and when that did not work I
installed in runtime folder as per instructions:
C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_4.21\Engine\Plugins\Runtime

I really would like the names to carry over since I want to import over 100 materials all at once.
Please see attached.

Maybe try?
converting scene to Arnold?
Configure User Paths to same location as the .sbsars files and maps.
in the Library menu in the Slate Editor check show incompatible too.

I know it can be so frustrating when you are all set and stuff does not work.

I am too dealing with after getting all of my Substance To ARnold material libraries together along with materials applied to scene objects, my problem now is 3ds Max cannot handle the larger created conversion Substance To ARnold files/Scenes/Libraries.  I have ended up exporting maps and recreating my libraries From SCRATCH in stand alone Arnold.
It seems that that for me anyway is to use Substance To ARnold in a Sparingly way.
