yes, that works great for a paint layer,  but it seems that the functionality is gone when trying to use a stencil on a mask.

I just downloaded the Substance Painter-0.7.1.370-msvc11-x64-standard-trial and its still not allowing me to using custom maps for the stencils.  I can drag my custom map onto my brush and the brush turns into the custom map, but I cannot change the stencil like you could in the beta 6 versions.

just downloaded beta 7 and besides the very unstable crashes, and sliders not working, it seems that the ability to use custom images and a stencil has disappeared.  Has this workflow changed?

As for the crashes, when ever I try to delete a  substance effect, painter will crash.  If I drag and drop a effect onto the effect slot, the slider will become un-responsive.

Sometime tweaking a slider the whole object will go black, tweak the slider a bit more the object will look normal.
