Gonna showcase my Substance Materials here, let´s start dirty:

these substances are supposed to be used with props/characters - not for ground textures

Seems to me, that I am not able to send private messages within the forum; If I write a message, it seems to work - but then there is nothing in the "sent items" folder, and no reply as well :/

The longer I am working on this character project, the more I fall in love with the non-destructive workflow, that let´s you so easily rebake and tweak stuff.


I wonder if this is a problem with some settings or a bug:

Since the latest SD update, I am missing the names of the Node´s Inputs and Outputs (when you hover the mouse pointer over the circle in expanded mode, it should show the name, i.e. basecolor, roughness etc.).

Fortunately, I know what to plug where for most of the cases - but still it would be nice to have those names back!

As the title says, I would appreciate a way to publish a single or slected graph(s) from a substance, that consists of multiple graphs.
Something like: RMB-click the individual/selected graph(s) and select "publish selected graph(s)".

The problem arises, because I have a substance containing 20 graphs. It´s nice to have them all toghether while working with SD, but for publishing it would be great to be able to select one ore more of the graphs and only publish those.

Maybe there is a smart way to do just this - if so, please let me know! otherwise I´ll suggest it as a feature in uservoice

This is an issue since quite some time now:

When I change a model and therefore edit the fbx, the Material ID´s get lost. Then I have to restart SD, delete the model from the resources folder, reimport the model, then the Material ID´s are accessible again.

This bug was dicussed some months ago, and as it is very time consuming: please adress this issue!

I am having a strange issue with the Cells 3 Node: If I connect it to a Blur HQ Grayscale Node, there is no blurring happening, same with standard blur.
As soon as I blend the output of the Cells 3 Node with a color, the resulting output can be edited

my guess is that the ouput of the cells node is alpha only, not rgb

When I import fbx or obj files from maya, SD names the materials according to the shading groups. Is there a way to let SD name the materials after the maya material names?

I am having an issue with painter symmetry: while my model is centered and its pivot centered as well and its transformations freezed in maya, the symmetry plane in painter is offset.

if I look at the model in maya from the front, the center line matches the grid axis, in painter it does not.

any help appreciated

Hi there,

I wonder if it would be possible to provide a better wy to showcase images in this forum; currently, large pictures are beeing cut off and have to be scrolled, which is not very handy/beautiful
