SubstanceSubstance - Discussions - not able to login to uservoice
 on: March 22, 2016, 04:16:17 pm
anyone else having this problem?

when I try to sign in to uservoice, the window for my allegorithmic login pops up, but when I return to the uservoice window, I am still not logged in

and then it sends me in a loop...

this might have been asked before, but is there a way to move the 2D canvas without beeing limited by the viewport borders? I find it annoying, that I can't move the canvas any further than the corner of the 2D viewport

Substance PainterSubstance Painter - Discussions - Progress bar flashing
 on: November 02, 2015, 10:42:28 am

Quite happy so far with SP 1.6 - only thing that is annoying is, that my progress bar keeps "flashing" permanently - even if I do nothing.
Looks like a bug to me

anyone else having this issue?

Substance DesignerSubstance Designer - Technical Support - absolute graph size
 on: October 07, 2015, 12:49:22 pm

when I set the graph size to absolute, the output size still behaves as if the graph would be relative to parent.

as far as I remember, for absolut graph size, I have to type in the desired texture size for width and height (i.e. 2048, 2048)

but since 5.3, even if I set the output size to absolute, the width/height sliders require the "as if relative to parent" numbers.

Substance DesignerSubstance Designer - Feature Requests - Rendering presets
 on: October 07, 2015, 12:41:52 pm

I wonder, if there is a way to save presets for environment settings, light settings in SD 5.3?

I found it handy to be able to save such presets in the sbsscn-files, to avoid setting up the 3D viewer each time you create a new substance

I am looking for a node in my graph, that is causing issues - but I can't find it.

Is there a search graph feature, that I am missing, or could this be a feature, that might be added to SD?

Substance DesignerSubstance Designer - Technical Support - Dependencies....
 on: October 06, 2015, 01:05:27 pm
It seems to me, that when I am copying parts of a graph to another graph, these will show up in the dependeny manager as linked to the "old" graph.

I would understand this, if it would go for SVG nodes or custom images - but afaik, this goes for basic nodes like blend nodes, white noises etc as well.

As a result, I am having all sorts of weird dependencies related to substances, I copied from in my dependency manager. And somehow, this makes substance crash, when I "export with dependencies".

I find this very unhandy, and I am wondering, if this could be done in a smarter way from my side?

And is there a way to get rid of these dependencies related to other substances?

I'm sure, this has been asked before, but I just don't find any answer:

is there a way to open old Substance Painter files (folder structure, no spp-file) with the latest version of Painter?

cheers, Michael

SubstanceSubstance - Discussions - uservoice
 on: August 12, 2015, 10:56:31 am

just tried to suggest a feature via uservoice, then I got this message:

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.
There are two ways to get more votes:
When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

I have suggested a couple of basic features, such as toggle fullscreen for SD and SP viewport - none of them implemented so far. Also none of the ones I voted for.

This is frustrating, and I'm sure that the uservoice system should avoid frustration instead of causing it.

So where should I post my ideas now?

cheers Michael

Substance DesignerSubstance Designer - Discussions - Library + Filters
 on: August 04, 2015, 01:04:36 pm

I am trying to create a filter within my library, that contains both all textures that have the name "rock" in it + all textures, which url contains "rock"

But I don't know, how I can filter "additive", because if I create a filter for the url containing "rock" plus a filter for the names containing "rock", it only shows me those textures, for which both filters are true

so how can I make it, that the filtering works in an additive way, meaning it will show me all textures containing the name "rock" PLUS all textures, which url contains "rock"

thanks for your help!

anyone having an idea, why I can't rotate my background image in the viewport using the shift key? It also doesn't rotate when I am using the light-symbol in the viewport

(it does rotate, when I use the scene > edit > Background Image > Rotation knob)

cheers Michael

How could I convert/modify a greyscale uniform color node, so that it has values from 0-99 instead of 0-255

thanks in advance!

SubstanceSubstance - Discussions - Forum: unable to upload pics

I tried to post some pics, but after it starts uploading, it gets canceled at about 60% and I get the message, that the website is not available...

I am fiddling around with how to name Substance outputs properly, so that the resulting textures are placed accordingly in Marmoset.

Anyone knows, if there is  a list somewhere with what to name how for Substance + Marmoset?

Currently, my output called "fuzz" ends up in the "albedo" slot, while the fuzz slot stays unmapped...

I have posted this question on polycount and google forum as well
