Still nothing ??

To do that for Unity, you'll have to use 2 different materials. One for the opaque part, and one for the transparent part (it's a different shader and renders differently). You can set 2 materials on one mesh, you don't especially have to separate the transparents planes from the original mesh.

Note that if a face of your cube is transparent, you won't see the cube's interior, or you'll have to set a two-sided shader, or simply modelise the interior.

looks like it's working! great job  :)

Hello guys,

I have this issue that sometimes, when painting a mask (i usually start from a black mask and then paint white on it), it always paints white no matters the grayscale i chose. When this happens, i have to restart substance painter to make it work again.
It's not really annoying since i still can use the eraser tool and the flow slider on the brush, but hey, having this basic thing not working is kind of awkward.

Hope you guys will find a fix to that !  ;D

(I'm using v2018.2.1 since the v2018.2.2 isn't working well, but i had the same thing on 2.2)

tip from maugerpierre

Before creating a new project, open an ancient one (a clean one!). THEN, you create a new one. It works for me... And the new project is now clean (so far...).

For those who have a broken project.

Open the broken project and export a smart material with everything in the layer box.
Open an ancient project, THEN create a new one with the object of the broken project. The new project will be clean.
Drop the smart mat in the layer box.

a "clean" project means an ancient project made on a previous version of substance and doesn't have the bug. (worked for me after downgrading substance to v2018.2.1)

Reverting to an older version, opening up a blank project still offers the same issue for me
Hoping for a quick fix cause this is really impacting my job :(

Did you try to open a clean project ? I mean an old project that you worked on in a previous version of substance (so no bug on it), then create a new project ?

looks like the same issue https://forum.allegorithmic.com/index.php/topic,25574.0.html

Two methods :

First method is downgrading your substance version to 2018.2.1 until the next update.

If you're not using steam, you can download any older build from the licenses tab in your Allegorithmic account.

If you're using Steam, here's an easy tutorial : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1086279994

The ID you'll need :
APP ID : 744570
Depot ID : 744571

For anyone having this issue like us, downgrading substance painter to 2018.2.1 works just fine. Here's a tutorial to do it if you're using Steam : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1086279994

Substance PainterSubstance Painter - Discussions - Cursor issue in the 2D view
 on: September 14, 2018, 03:59:08 pm
Hello guys,

So i'm facing an annoying issue with the cursor and the 2D view.  Hard to explain but i'll try because it's a pain in the ass !
Whenever i try to paint in the 2D view (or just have my cursor in the 2D view), my cursor will be kind of clamped in the center of the view. It's like the 2D view is ultra zoomed and i can only paint in these borders.

I made a pic to illustrate my problem :

So whenever my cursor enters the 2D view (big rectangle), it'll be clamped in the small rectangle, and the cursor sensibility will be reduced a lot, like the screen is mapped in this small rectangle. So i can only paint in this small rectangle, and zooming changes nothing.

I'm sorry if i didn't made myself very clear, it's pretty hard to explain and english isn't my primary language.
I tried to restart Substance, reboot PC, changed Substance's project, nothing works. And i have this issueonly since like 2 days.

Well i figured it out the second after uploading this topic..

I simply had to re-select the pbr-metal-rough shader in the Shader settings window (it showed pbr-metal-rough (outdated) before re-selecting it).

Hello,
I just updated my Substance Painter from 2018.1.? to 2018.2.1 and when i start one of my project that worked on the previous version, it only shows a pink mesh.

The "Single channel" view mods works fine, but when i want to show the "Lighting" Material view mod, pink everywhere..

I first thought it was my graphic card driver that was outdated, but even after an update it still dosn't work.

Here's what the logs show :

I can't find a way to make it work actually..

I've tried a simple test, painted some details on the normal map and the height map on a cube. Those details would normally make some parts darker in the AO, but the baked AO appears completely blank.
I didn't set any high poly model. I even tried to overide the normal in the TextureSet Settings window with some hard surface normal, and bake again, but nothing.

I'm using the default bake settings.
