Thanks so much for this handy utility, I just grabbed it and it works great!

Ah, that's ok, I can do it in Photoshop if I need to, but thanks for the clarification!

Thanks for the replies!  It sounds like I should be able to make some more adjustments within the Smart Auto Tile node to get this to work.  I do love the alt skewing and actually was wondering if there was a way to adjust it more like the Photoshop Free Transform tool where you can individually drag points... do you know if that's possible?  I've only seen the alt modifier on that node.

And yeah, I'll give the clone patch a try as well, that's worked great for me on a few scans! :)  I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something with the Smart Auto Tile node first.

I'm trying to create a tileable stone from scan data and wanted to see if there was a way to adjust the smart auto tile node to work both horizontally and vertically.  You can see in the screenshot that I'm getting a decent result for tiling horizontally but it's still got a harsh seam in the vertical direction.  Should I be using a different node besides the smart auto tile for this?

Hey, thanks so much, Vincent!  That works :)

I'm trying to process some scans and make tileable materials out of them, but I don't think I'm understanding how the Material Crop or Multi Crop nodes work.  I use the handles to adjust where it will be cropped, but the image underneath shifts to a random new location after every adjustment.  In the attached image you can see that in the top image I needed to crop out the parts that were transparent so I moved the crop window down and lined it up within the actual image but when I was done, the image shifted upwards and the window stayed where I'd moved it which was also incorrect.  Any idea how I can fix this?

Hey justaviking, thanks again for trying another failed export of mine! :o

I did export with dependencies and it seemed to take the objs that it needed, but I see they are missing for you still.  I did not use any of the options on export except changing where it was exported to, I left the rest at default.  It looks like I just need to look into a different issue now... how to export something usable from Substance besides texture files  ::)   Or it could be something with sharing on Dropbox... the dependencies are in a subfolder there but I do see the ones you're missing in that folder in Dropbox.  Either way, I've wasted enough of your time trying to share this graph!  I think maybe cobblestones were a tough subject for a first try with the smart auto tile :)

Oh wow, I'm sorry about that, justaviking! :(  I really appreciate you trying to open it though.  I've added it one more time without compressing it:  If this doesn't work then I'm just gonna have to power through and figure it out, hahah :)  At least I'm getting better results getting more organic scans to tile so that's a start!

Ok, trying this one more time!  :)  I put the cobblestones export here:

That makes sense, thanks so much for your help!  :)

Thanks Wes!  I thought that might be the problem but when I checked the nodes the 8 bit dropdown was greyed out because it was set to Relative to Parent.  If I change this to Absolute in the Tile Generator, then I can change it to 16 bit and the problem is solved!  But is it ok to set the Tile Generator to Absolute here?  I just want to make sure I won't cause myself more problems further along in this tutorial :)

Sorry for the delay, I tried to attach it twice before leaving the office and I think it's just too large.  I'll see if I can add it to dropbox this weekend and try this again!

Thanks justaviking!  I think I'm getting it there... slooooowly....  :)  I should have started with something like concrete for this, lol....

Thanks Reondryt, that all actually makes a lot of sense!  I've been coming to the same conclusions as I adjust this node further.... it's smart but not THAT smart yet ;)  I'm trying to get the cuts on the ground between the stones, align it so it's not so skewed, exactly like you're suggesting.  And it's getting much better but still not quite there yet.

I'm still not entirely sure how this material crop node works... I'm adjusting the crop window but I'm pretty sure that the seams I'm looking at are from the actual edges of my texture (the red border in the 2D window).  I would assume that I'm adjusting the window to remove anything outside of the crop edges but that doesn't appear to be the case. Hopefully the screenshot helps explain this :)   I'm running this through a material crop and then into the Smart Auto Tile node.  Am I just not thinking about this correctly?

Absolutely justaviking, thank you!  I'm currently trying a few things based on this tutorial:  and it's getting better, it's just not quite there yet.

The Baked in SD frame was just a note to myself that those maps were baked out in Designer since I had tried a set baked out in XNormal before.  I brought in a high res scan and a UVed plane and baked the normal, height and color.  And nope, I wasn't tiling the base color separately, that is just a messy graph where I first tried the multi crop node :)

I also attached the substance but just let me know if you have trouble opening it as I'm not entirely sure how linked Resources are handled yet.  Thanks again for taking a look!
