Please add ability to set a default template to new projects

I am using A livelink plugin to work with C4D\redsift and Painter.
When I move a mesh from C4D. it doesnt use the template i want in Painter
how do i set Painter to use a specific template as default?

Im trying to use Xolotl bridge to move meshes from C4D with Redshift to Painter. I bake out the object then
I run into these errors.
