SubstanceSubstance - Purchases & Licenses - Re: Perpetual Licenses
 on: October 23, 2020, 08:21:34 am
Steam license will not be revoked and we have no plans to stop offering perpetual licenses on Steam.
You will be free to use your license even after the year of free updates.

1. They do not expire.
2. Yes 1 point = 1 material
3. The points are linked to a specific email account, not to a specific license.
4. No, the subscription is only for the whole toolset. The rent to own option is not available anymore.
5. The promotional price is only valid once. If you cancel your sub, you will lose it.

The 2020 versions on Steam will likely not get any more feature updates this year, only bug fixes. The 2021 version will be available for preorder on Steam in a couple of months though.

Yes, you will need to renew by October 31th (you should see the option a month before the end of your sub, so October 30th).
You will get one more year of updates, after which, you will still be able to download and use your licenses indefinitely but won't be receiving new updates.

You should get 30 points, they take a bit or time to appear in the account sometimes.

As long as you don't ship the materials themselves as is and only use them to paint assets, you're good to go.

Yes it automatically canceled it when you chose to pay that fee.

If you can renew one last time through our website, I would recommend that unless you really want to go through Steam.

Your license should only require to be verified once, if you login with your Substance3D account, you shouldn't have to deal with a license at all.
What method are you using to verify your license today?

Wait so the perpetual licenses I have right now, can't be upgraded as and when I can afford it? My only option is to re-subscribe (then lose access when I can no longer afford the subscription?)
Your current perpetual can only be upgraded for another year until the end of this month. After this deadline, you will still be able to get perpetual licenses through Steam. We will have un upgrade discount available when those new versions are available.

If you cancel your subscription, your license will run until the end of the period you paid for, so if you started on January 10th and you cancel on March 25th, it will run until April 10th.
Your Source downloads and points will always be accessible though, even after you cancel.

This should help you finding the license file:
