Hi, I own Modo indie...I also own Maya, Full and Max Full...Substance is fine for both Maya and Max.... but Modo indie, any time I add a substance material it crashes modo .. I have to remove Substance all together to be able to open that file again... So I tried on about 10 others..SO this clearly is a substance issue... The last update for Modo Substance  , is substance 2.1. ...I know Modo indie is always behide, kinda like Unity.....but this is getting out of hand fella's  ...

Two tools I like the most, are broke with Substance... UGH.. even though I own Maya AND Max, I like Modo.. for modeling, and texturing... So any idea what is going on with Modo indie? and Substance??? Thanks.!

I noticed when I use Invert Gray Scale .  In the view port of my normal and height   it changed with out me doing much, it throws me off a lot, I have to zoom in and out for it to correct itself, but it does it like every few mins, or more, its pretty annoying. I have seen this with every substance I have made for the past year when I use invert gray scale or invert .  Is this going to be fixed?? or is there a work around. Its pretty annoying.

So basically in the  view port, it will show inverted one way and pushed out.. like if you where making the change your self  with the node....when I'm not.   I hope that makes sense.

Thanks!

I been talking to asset developers to re-add support to there assets, they are stating, they can't yet, do not being able to add #define and other aspects. So when you do plan to open this up so asset developers can start re-adding support to Unity......

I asked on Discord and was ignored. So it would be great to get some information here...

Substance DesignerSubstance Designer - Discussions - 3D view question.
 on: October 30, 2017, 12:29:54 am
Hi, I been using SD 5 and many others for awhile, I been using 2017.1  a little less, but I noticed, every time I make a texture, in the 3d view they are all shiney..  I like the old clay look.  Is there some setting they moved to set this to be less shiney ? I checked render settings, display, etc.. and had no luck..   I have a hard time seeing my normal maps... when doing stuff like bricks etc... when its that shiney..

anyways, any suggestions?     I have only the height and normals done, I just added a color for the diffuse for right now.

I notice a few noises nodes missing that I liked, vertical noise..was missing..

I added it from 5..to the new version it worked fine for days, now all of a sudden it keeps asking me to update that node...any reason why its crashing over and over it says invalid version number, I believe is the error. are we not allowed to use the old noise filters???  if so, why did you guys take them out...this is the third one I liked you guys took out...

any help would be great. on suggestions if we are allowed to do what I did? or is there another way to do this?  Thanks.

ps,  just seen directional was it replaced by that??    also still want to know are we not allowed to use old ones?   I was able to add it and use it fine, but it keep asking me to update , and it would cause it to crash. any info would be great.

SubstanceSubstance - Discussions - New Substance changes
 on: May 05, 2017, 01:11:11 am
I normally don't post this stuff, but I feel this is a slap in the face for people who been buying substance Designer and painter each time... ....So you expect  us to pay again after I just did twice for Designer5 and  6 and painter 1 and  2... So I will have to pay to get features in Sept 2017....

I don't mind buying them after a few years...but this is getting out of hand...

I can't stand Subs, reason I no longer used Adobe products and Auto Desk...Looks like I'm adding you to the list..

Some of us like to OWN our products..   75 bucks t... What if someone don't upgrade for a year....Are you going to double dip them?  So many questions, and I feel you JUST got paid by us...and now you want more...

Hi, I  have a few models, that I already had textured before in  Photoshop. Older ones.

I wanted to make new normals, spec maps etc.

Anyways, I checked in Modo, Maya, PhotoShop, 3DO. etc all my UV's are fine and the textures line up, as well in Unity.

When I add to Substance Painter, the UV's are all over the place, no matter  if I try to rescale, or any setting really in Substance Painter to line up the UV's they don't period..These are very simple UV's and models as well.

So i'm confused to why all the other programs the UV's are fine when I add my texture from the shelf, but Substance Painter 2 it's not.. Wondering if this is a bug or is there something I'm missing, I have not used Substance Painter 2 alot, but I have used Substance Painter 1 alot.. I do own them all.

So any help would be great as I need to finish some client work.. Thanks.

Substance DesignerSubstance Designer - Discussions - question about tiles.
 on: September 12, 2016, 10:22:52 pm
Hi, I been making a brick texture... and for the mortar area,  the tile is sticking outward  rather than in ,  like brick should for the mortar so it should have depth to it.

I was wondering if anyone has a tip for me, to invert the tile generator, or or the tile area in general .

I'm drawing a blank, I   have done this before and I have not used designer in months and forget, sorry I feel like a idiot now.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

I plan to buy this, but debating, on which one to buy, I use Unreal and Unity engine.  If I were to just buy it from the site or Steam, is there any draw back if I do not buy right from the asset store other than using in the engine??

I don't care if I use straight in the engine or not, I just want to be sure I'm buying this one time, rather than for each engine, which does not make any sense.   Any info would be great .  This is going to be for an indie company, not for a hobby.  Yes we make under 100k right now.
