Say for example I use the new Spec Gloss Shader in Painter 2 and export those maps in to Last Gen engine (UDK), can I have the expectation that the maps I authored in Painter using Non-PBR will be approximate and function appropriately in UDK?

Having the ability to turn on Wireframe in Iray Mode would be fantastic for doing technical breakdowns of your models!

Hello Guys,

These days I texture almost exclusively in Designer and Painter, whether it be personal or professional work.

As I'm sure you know, not every studio out there is using Physically Based Rendering in their pipeline (just yet anyways). I've come to know my way around these texturing packages very well and unfortunately sometimes I have to revert back to less intuitive methods of texturing when creating a piece for a pipeline that hasn't changed over yet.

I would absolutely love to be able to texture in Designer and Painter but it doesn't quite translate when working on Non-PBR assets (Standard Diffuse). I realize that for Painter there is a downloadable Shader in Substance Share but the shader doesn't seem to function appropriately in the viewport.

I'm wondering if there is any chance for true Non-PBR workflow support in Designer and Painter? Both of these packages are so quick and comprehensive and I find it a bit of a shame that I can only use the packages when working with PBR. I'd love to be able to texture in these suites regardless of whether I am working with last gen shaders or not.

Any thoughts on this?

Hey folks! I am trying to expose the Random Seed on Wood Fibers 1 and I can't quite figure out how to get it parameterized. I am new to making custom parameters and editing existing ones so if anyone could share a walkthrough or a step-by-step I would really appreciate it!

Hello,

I can't quite seem to figure out why this is mirroring over backwards. It's happening to all of my symmetrical pieces so I don't it's a UV issue.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,

I keep getting an error that forces me to restart my project. The program will crash (seems to happen most often during painting away a mask or using particle brushes and sometimes the problem occurs simply when I load the project again) and when I open my project everything seems fine while it's loading. However, as soon as it is finished loading my materials and layers go completely wonky.

I've had to restart this current project four times today and I have essentially wasted an entire day of work trying to texture this piece ultimately to no avail. I simply cannot figure out why this is happening or how I can fix it.

I have included two pictures that show the model while it's being loaded, and the other picture is after the model has been loaded and as you can see the model becomes flat in a lot of areas and I end up losing a sizable chunk of details with some materials completely changing! If I go back and reset the master materials the problem becomes even worse.

I have also included the DxDiag file for my computer and I am using the recently released 14.12 AMD Catalyst Omega Driver. Unfortunately, I cannot use this fantastic program and as of now I have to halt progress on my project which is frustrating in it's own right. At this point I am desperate for assistance and if anyone else has this issue please let me know. At the very least it would be less of a burden to know if others are having the same problem.
