No matter what I tried. For some reason the Edge Wear and the Smart Materials won't work. :P

Can somebody explain to me, why all the Normal Maps are missing for the Car Materials?

For example:
Cataphote Rear Wave Dents

Why are materials in Substance Source promoted if a lot of them have missing maps?
Even when downloading the .sbsar file and loading them into the Player, etc.
The presets don't create the normals maps.
And the normal maps are missing.

Can somebody please explain me why?
Or what the heck am I missing here?  :P


Substance Integrations - UE4 - How to import?

How to import a Substance Material into UE4, that only has the final texture maps connected to the different material slots?

My goal:
I need to have basic PBR-Shaders (each node has just a final texture map assigned) so I can use it for Oculus Quest.

What's the best and fastest way to approach that?

I am trying to deploy a VR scene to the Oculus Quest.
For some reason, just the Substance Materials are just all turning out "black".

Is Substance not supported for VR and the Oculus Quest?
What am I missing here?

Substance Integrations - UE4 - How to get Depth?

When I use the Substance Materials inside of UE4, I am not getting any depth.
All the materials are flat. No Bump + No Displacement.

  • What am I missing here and how can I fix that?
  • Please provide a step by step guide.

But where is the Substance Material for download with the wet water on top of an asphalt or concrete?
I can't find it.

When assigning your Glass Materials to objects --> the objects appear all black.

All the materials that you can directly download from Substance Source do have major issues.

The mandatory nodes are not built - therefor the Material does not look like in the preview.
Example Material: Inclined Lumber Tiles

When you download that material, you can clearly see that the Displacement is missing.

If I have to rebuild every material again, or if I have to add Displacement and tiling nodes then I don't need Substance.
The whole idea is to be able to download Materials, and they should work.

I have no time to mess around with Materials.
If I would, I wouldn't need Substance Source.

So please fix all the materials.. that's pretty hard core to see as a paying customer!

I am working with Unreal.

a) Substance is constantly logging me out from my account. Can you please fix that!

b) how can I download my entire purchased library when working with Unreal?
It's annoying to select every single material and then download every single material over and over again.
How can I automatically download ALL my purchased library with one click of a button?

c) Please ad Minimum requirements for Materials and Shaders like...
SCALING.. TILING... please add those mandatory options


Source Material: Cataphote Rear Reflector Wave

After downloading for UE4 - it's clearly to see that the wavy pattern is missing.
Kinda the displacement or normal map seems to be missing.

The Material does not look like in the preview.

Substance Integrations - UE4 - Tiling & Scale

When you built the Material Library, you should have considered the Tiling/Scaling Options. :(
That's a real bummer, that this is not automatically in every instance as an option available.

Would it be possible to add that so essential feature automatically to each material?
When ever I am going to download a material, I need to change the tiling & scaling.

Please add that option to all materials inside your library.

After downloading and assigning Substance Materials to my objects, I have no height assigned.
No displacement, etc.

Do you have to activate anything additional to make this work?
I am just downloading Substance Materials from the Library and assign it directly to a geometry.

But no displacement or height map is working.
Therefore, all materials look different and don't match the renders from your library.

How to fix that?

On your Substance Source Page, you are showing PBR Materials that can be downloaded with different Presets.

I am using the plugin "Substance to Vray" - to create the PBR Materials & Presets.
The Script generates the nodes and I am getting a Vray Shader.
However, the material looks different then the one you post on your online website.

None of the presets looks like the presets, that are shown on your Substance Source Page.
After downloading, I can load different presets... but they do not look at all like the Presets shown within your Substance Source Library.

The result shows, that the procedural wood texture for the base color & difuse slot is not generated.

Please let me know:
a) Could you re-produce that issue?
b) How to fix that issue?
