Painter will help you to get the best result out of your worst sculpts

I am still experimenting with "Blender" and the internal sculpt functions ... but maybe I am not more then a hard surface modeler :) more images from 2017 on Artstation

Substance PainterSubstance Painter - Showcase - Spintires Mods with SP2
 on: April 04, 2016, 12:04:46 pm
Hi community,

I would like to post some mods which I have model and textured in SP2 for the game Spintires.
The available shader in SP2 are not the same as in Spintires but you get a very good idea how it will look in game.

Its something completely different to enjoy your graphics and models in game. Both trucks where first textured in SP1 and over the last week re textured in SP2. To test new function from SP2!

1. Mod-Vid. ->
2. Mod-Vid. ->

by the way I made the ground textures in game (terrain) with B2M-3.

Substance DesignerSubstance Designer - Discussions - Bio-Cell Pattern
 on: July 04, 2015, 05:27:51 am
Hi folks,

I start to refresh my drawing skills, until I recognize the importance of sketches... anyway: I draw a quick cell and I want to recreate the cell pattern in Substance Designer. Is this possible to create this pattern with Substance Designer? Or should I draw the pattern by hand and import it for further use in SD.?

Quick intro: I like to share my personal learning experience in form of projects. If you curious, or just learning Substance Painter as I do, your are free to use those project for personal and commercial project without any restriction. No need to give me credits. Only one thing would be great: Leave your tips and hints here in the forum.

Hi, the preview of the brush rotation in the 3D viewport is off...
when I rotate the camera to the other side (But the "paint" result is correct).

Substance PainterSubstance Painter - Technical Support - Emissive Issue
 on: June 03, 2015, 12:30:09 pm
I dont know what to say... please watch the video..  ;D
It happens when I save the project without adding a emissive channel and reopen the project in Painter.

Hi & Short Intro
Export textures from painter to your render engine, these presets save your time.
Also available are scenes and files to generate thumbnails (custom preview) for materials in the Substance Painter shelf.

*Uploads are stored on MediaFire
*Every Download in this post is for personal and commercial project without any restriction. No need to give me credits.

Export Presets :: Octane Render
More information on how to use the maps with Octane

Export Presets :: Marmoset Toolbag 2
More information (PBR 1) on how to use the maps in Marmoset Toolbag

Thanks go to: froyok, Fabian F. . . .
Copy or move the presets into "documents/Substance Painter/shelf/export-presets".

I record a quick and short video on how to use the exported maps from the preset PBR 2 in Marmoset Toolbag 2.

Preview Generator :: Painter & Marmoset
Those scenes are available for download and quite useful to generate a quick material preview (thumbnails) for the shelf.
Each download contain: Substance Painter project, Marmoset Toolbag scene and mesh files (Also one folder:Textures).

Whatever you're planning with the downloaded stuff, I do not care (it's free).
The following projects included additional textures, materials and drawings.
Use it.. as you wish.

*This Smart Material can contain more than one material preset inside.

Where is the option for saving particles presets in Substance Painter gone?
Will be the preview generated automatic?

Is there a material preview scene provided by allegorithmic to generate the thumbnails for the Substance Painter library?
I want to keep the shelf visual clean without different type of thumbs.

Why do we have 2 material tabs in the shelf?
How I get my materials into the right tab?

  • I started a new painter project and after a while I save the project and quit Painter.
  • I change some substance and update them (documents - folder)
  • I open Substance Painter (Everything is normal)
  • I open my saved project and the double substance appear.

As the title says: Polygroups from zBrush can slow down Painters Viewport! I upload the obj and zBrush file.
If I export a mesh from zBrush and it has some polygroup defined,
the viewport in Substance Painter is slow and without fast and responsible.

Texturing marathon (Substance Painter) for learning purpose started in january 2015.
I Am quite happy with Substance Painter (over 100 render are done so far) even there are some limitations
for rendering in none game engines such as the max. resolution output at 4K.

Whatever .. if you interested visit my flickr 3d album every item was painted with S.P..
and you can also find me on Artstation
