Thanks everyone! There's no transparency/opacity used at all, this is completely using the thickness/curvature/position maps and procedural grunge/noise. The smart material will be coming soon :)

No transparency used in this texture (its opaque), 100% stock procedural textures/filters and masks + the meetMAT alpha.

Nice work!

Hey gang, I recently finished up texturing this baddie. Still a WIP in the sense that now I need to get her rigged up and animated, and emitting all sorts of particles and things in engine.

First attempt doing something organic in Painter, pretty pleased with the results. Discovered some nice workflows using curvature and ao inputs to get really nice slime over the surface, as well as using the thickness maps to get the internal glows.

Thanks Andrei!

I just finished building a scene meant to show off the gun in an appropriate environment, added it to the original post :)

Very impressive, that must've been a fun project to work on. The Trine series is rad!

Fixed the issues with the normals and cleaned up the textures! Modeled in maya, detailed in zbrush, textured in substance painter :)

Edit: Put the gun in a scene! Everything is textured in substance painter and rendered in marmoset.

*Not sure how to scale it here so feel free to check it out at artstation

Cool! Looks great!

Hey gang! Just finished up this little scene. Got a couple of nice assets out of it, may end up recycling them in some games/other projects. I think I'm going to do a series where I texture this in different elements, does that sound interesting to anyone? Either way it'll be nice practice >=)

p.s. this was my first time using cards to do leaves/grass... and really my first time doing anything like this, so all comments and crits are welcome! thanks!

edit: re-baked normals on the rock formation, fixing a lot of the seaming issues. Switched my texture projections to tri-planar as well. Updated 3D here and updated 2D stills on artstation.

nice work!
