Been trying to download this asset at least half a dozen times today. Same result, it downloads 10MB out of 26MB and just stops.

correct, my own files open without an issue, but the two sample files hang forever.

Hi,

This is not earth shattering nor dire, but the sample scenes hang forever in the latest version, my older files open just fine, so this is really just a FYI for you guys.

they hang when opening them, the meshes become visible in the view port they just hang and hang forever.

I had attached the wrong log files, sigh.

I'm a unity guy.

If I was trying to do what you are doing I'd do it the following way.

In Unity, you  write a tiny behavior changes an exposed float in the material/shader that multiplies the uv tiling value of the textures you want to tile to whatever scale value you are using.

so it would change the uv mapping of certain textures and not others.

Hi,

I'm having an issue with Substance Designer hanging indefinitely when opening/creating a graph.

I'm thinking that it is being caused by iRay not being installed properly.



Maybe Nvidia pooped the bed? Is there a way of manually installing iray so it will work?

I figured that I would ask, because, perhaps we'll get it?

I love all the environments that shipped with Substance Painter, they are really good. Would it be possible to get a 4k resolution version of them?

Hi,

I'd like for the thumbnails in the shelf to load/generate without one having to select the category or having to scroll down to get them all generated.

For example, launch Painter, go get coffee, all thumbnails are generated.

As it is now, one can let it sit there and it will not generate thumbnails beyond the ones currently visible in the shelf.

It works on DESIGNER,  not painter.  You have to switch the engine to directX 10. SSE is cpu.

YES!!!

I have been very anxious to get back here are report some good news.

It started badly for me, and I was working on it over in the Substance Designer forum.

Long story short, I had to clean something out of my registry.
It's not a universal problem, but a developer worked with me to get it fixed.  I sent a copy of the gunk to the wizards at Allegorithmic and I'm sure they're looking for the root cause so they can prevent it from happening again.

GREAT NEWS... IT's WORKING FOR ME NOW... IN SUBSTANCE DESIGNER.

Using my GTX 1080, Iray renders a good 15x faster than it does on my i7 CPU.
You read that right.  Not 15 percent faster; 15 times faster!

Anyone with a GTX 10xx card should be very happy when this support comes to Substance Painter too.  :)

Seriously,  my 1070 did 1000 samples in like 3 seconds.  Wow! This was really worth the wait.  You guys rock! !!

Also, perhaps more importantly, I tried deleting this thread, that i created, the board told me that i lacked permissions to delete my own thread.

I already found the issue with my problem. I basically realized that the normal being shown in the painter viewport and the one seeing in unity ARE NOT THE SAME. I imported the exported texture into painter and i get the same flat effect.
