Hey Maya Gameworks 0,

what is your issue exactly and what steps did you make and where are you stuck?

Following the documentation should let you expose the blending modes from a Blend Node flawlessly.

Substance DesignerSubstance Designer - Discussions - Re: Heightmaps in Unreal
 on: February 26, 2017, 04:14:36 pm
Hey andy_blondin,

it depends on what you want the height maps to do.
You can use Height maps for displacement or parallax occlusion mapping, for instance. You need to setup a Material in Unreal to do that, there is no chance you'll get that behaviour right out of an .sbs-File.
However, you can use a Substance-File to generate the Height map for you and use that to compute the displacement.

Hey guys,

about which 3D Viewport you are talking about? Substance Designer?
You probably need to switch the Shader from Metal/Rough to Spec/Gloss.

In the Viewport-Toolbar:
View -> Default -> Definitions -> Use The Shader you want. (In your case: physically_specular_glossiness)

Hey ZoltanE,

yes. You'll find a button in the Graphs Toolbar showing a rectangular link, instead of a curved version. (Between the 'Reset' and 'Link creation mode' icons)

Hey Minisciv,

you can e-mail the Allegorithmic Support (contact@allegorithmic.com) or use the contact form on the website. They'll give you a Steam code when you have a valid license.

Hey geoff_1,

the small gear-icon in the Graph-Toolbar has all the options you need to export texture files.

Hey geoff_1,

1. No and Yes.
Substance Designer can output standard texture files, which can be used everywhere, you don't need to rely on a 'Substance friendly' software. When you bake a texture from a model, it will only work with this particular model, of course.

2. Maybe the High and lowpoly are both in the same fbx file? I don't know the package right now, sorry.

Hey andyjhoey,

you need to pay the full price of each software package in end. To answer your question shortly:
You need to pay 8 months for Painter and additional 8 months for Designer.
