Substance - Purchases & Licenses - Can't see new license or downloads for SP 2017.1

Hi,

I can't see the license or the download links to the new Substance Painter 2017.1 on my work account's License page. I can see them in my personal indie account just fine.

I tried downloading the new version from the generic download page but it asks for a license file (I didn't try the online activation).

Where can I download the new version and/or the license file? Or is there some other trick?

Substance B2M & Substance Player - Substance B2M - Crash with input textures bigger than 8k

Hi,

When I try to load a bitmap that is higher resolution than 8192x8192 then both B2M or Substance Player crash. This is after I've already set the size limit to the maximum (32768)

To reproduce it is very easy, just create a substance with one input and one output, export as sbsar and try loading a big bitmap in Substance Player (files attached). I'm using Substance Designer 5.

Substance Designer - Showcase - Arma 3 civilian off-road vehicle

Hi guys, I recently had the chance to work on this civilian off-road vehicle for the upcoming Arma 3 expansion and I'm excited to be able to share it here.

It was modelled in 3DS Max and textured entirely in Substance Designer. I used Painter only for the mud splashes.

Substance Designer - Discussions - Best area to upgrade hardware?

Hi,

I'm thinking about upgrading my old-ish PC to get better performance from Designer (and Painter) but I was wondering which area would help the most?

• More system RAM?
• Newer generation of graphics card?
• More CUDA cores?
• More VRAM?
• Better VRAM bandwidth?

I have Nvidia GTX 660 and I'm looking at GTX 960 either 2GB or 4GB VRAM or one step above the GTX 970. The GTX 960 has lower memory bandwidth than the GTX 660 but there should be some compression involved. Would getting 4GB of VRAM make a big difference over 2GB?

I've seen Designer use up all of my 16 GB system RAM, which is both awesome and terrifying I'd like to improve the general responsiveness of Designer when working with large graphs and switching between 4k and 2k texture outputs. I don't think I can paint 4k textures with this hardware.

Any tips appreciated, thanks!
