Hi,

Did you try to change the color mode to Custom color? It would alow you to choose to change background color, if it's still transparent try to put a material below your Embroidery filter.

hope it will help you.

thanks

Hello,

Substance Alchemist allows you to create and iterate on material collections by tweaking and mixing existing materials, or by extracting new materials from scans into Substance Alchemist.

In order to have parameters in your materials you have to expose them while creating substances in Substance Designer (and the Substance Plugin installed on UE4, available for free on their Marketplace), or creating those parameters directly in Unreal Engine 4, in the Material Editor :
https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-US/RenderingAndGraphics/Materials/HowTo/Making_Parameters/index.html

To getting started with Substance designer :

Thanks

Hello,

So the problem with the "hero_alchemist.sbs" and "hero_alchemist.sbsar" is that it didn't have in the graph properties :
  • Label: Enter the name of your custom preset that will be used in the Substance Alchemist interface (in your case "hero")
  • User Data: alchemist::type=filter

Here's a link to the documentation to avoid missing steps :
https://docs.substance3d.com/sadoc/creating-and-importing-custom-presets-188976295.html

Thanks

Hello,

Can you attach an entire log file (In Help->Export log).
If you can provide also a screenshot of the graph in Substance Designer of your export filter or the sbs file,
and indicate some steps to reproduce the problem.

Thanks

Hello,

It will be included in the future major release of Alchemist.
For now no release date can be communicated.

Thank you

Hello,

When choosing the preset export Unity Standard the Smothness/glossiness map is stored in the Metalness alpha channel.
When creating a material in Unity in the Metalness slot you should have the smoothness option (see image attached).

Thank you

Hello,

Yes it can! Just put your Grout.sbsar on top in the layer stack and choose the blending mode that suites you the best. Height Blend mode should resolve your problem.

Thank you

Hello,

In order to use Emissive in Substance Alchemist, you need to enable in the channel settings the emissive. Then add a base material and enable the Emissive in the Custom channels parameters.

Thank you

Hello,

Happy to see you join the community!

This article on the documentation might help figure out why it takes so long:

https://docs.substance3d.com/sadoc/technical-requirements-185106444.html

Make sure you have enough RAM and up to date drivers.

Thanks

Hello,

Happy to see you join the community.

Can you attach the patterns you try to use?

Make sure the patterns you want to use are alpha maps.

If you still can't see anything maybe, the "Emboss Distance" value is too high, try to decrease it.

Hope it helps

Thanks

Hello,

Depending on your needs, you can use the filter "atlas generator" and "atlas Scatter".

If you work with a scan or a picture do not forget to use "image to material (B2M)" before using the atlas generator.

Hope it helps

Thanks
