Hi teaguevr,

You are allowed to your the Source assets freely if they are used in a "bigger work", such as a video game.
So no issue at all if your end customers don't have access to the sbsar or texture maps!

What is more complex is when people sell game assets diretly and redistribute the texture maps, in that case they have to be modified but it does not seem to be the case for you.
Please let me know if you need more precisions

It is indeed not possible at the moment to have information on the compatible versions of Painter when browsing an asset on Source, it is something we are thinking about adding.

If you are using a 2017 version of Painter it means that all materials made released from 2018 will probably not work for you, as they are made in a more recent version of Designer, with new nodes, that are not supported in Painter 2017.

The only thing I could advise you to do right now would be to try downloading old assets, by going into the categories you are interested in and scrolling to the bottom. As they are ordered by release date, the older ones which might work for you are at the complete end of the categories.
That would only work for material, as decals ant atlas assets were all created with a more recent version of designer.

Could you please delete from your previous message the two sbsar you are sharing? As you are redistributing licenced content.

I've just had a look at your account and the 30 points were credited to your account yesterday.
Please make sure you are logged in with your Substance account and not your Adobe account (which can sometimes be logged in automatically).

On Chrome do you have browser add ons that could maybe affect the login?

On our side we tried to reproduce and the only way we had the same error was when there was a error/typo in the email or password for the substance account.

Your issue made us realize that it was not displayed in the UI when there was a wrong email/password combo and that the login popup just closed, which is not great and which we will fix soon.

So could you maybe try to re-type from scratch the email and password combo on Source? I know you mentionned that you can login in other services fine with this account but we never know, trying again could maybe be the solution...

It is probably just a login issue, as I can see you have 418 points in your account, last used in November.
No points have been deleted!


Do you use a double authent system from your own company to log in, or do you have a personnal account?
Which browser do you use, and on which OS? Have you tried several browsers?

I'm going to need you help to let us find the issue, as on my side I can not reproduce it:

We are trying to find out why you encounter this issue, and will need help from you to help with troubleshooting. Sorry about that!

-   First, we will need you to go on Substance Source, open the dev console and ask to preserve the logs (see screenshot attached at the end of the post)
-   After that, we will ask you to try to log again: after you have logged in and have been logged out automatically, an error should be written in the console.
Could you please let us know what this error is?

Then, we will need you to go to and to log in there if it is not the case already. There, you will paste this in the dev console : adobeIMS.getUserProfile().account_type
Could you please let us know what it returns? It should read something like "type 1" or 2 or 3 etc.

That will help us understand why you are encountering this issue, and fix the problem asap.

Seems to be the same thing for us.
We have 0 pts available on the account, but we have multiple subscriptions of Substance(couple of annual and a few monthly), and have never used any points.

I am logged into the website with the same account as used here on the Forum.

As a random note, in the "You dont have any downloads remaining" popup, the the link for "check your account" points at which is a page that doesnt exist anymore

On Source I can see that you have 3390 points available on the account which you used to post this comment. Could you please try to use another browser and login with this account?
Sometimes users seem to be automatically logged out from their substance account and logged in with their adobe account if they have logged on another Adobe website in the past, so please make sure to log out to the account if you are logged in by default.

Let me know if it ends up working or not!

There is currenlty no way to directly purchase points, however you can get an additionnal monthly Substance subscription to get 30 extra points.
You can unsubscribe of that one right after your points are credited on your account, so it won't renew automatically.

I can see you have 120 avaialble on your account.
Like in my messages before, please make sure you login on Source with the same Substance account that you have used to login on the forum!
You may be using another one which is why you can't download assets.
Please don't login with your Adobe account, they are not linked and you on't see your points.
