I dont know how to keep the ratio as non square, but you can keep the original resolution by taking some previous steps. before you drag and drop your file, make sure to chose "use as bitmap" in the material creation template. the output usage should be set so "scan1" now. Go to the 2D view and select scan 1. so before you crop your image into a square set the input size to the original source resolution. you find that on the bottom left. change the input size to the same parameters as the original source resolution and then you crop.

Hi Miklos, check out this video. Its a detailed one hour explanation about how to convert traditional maps into pbr materials. Its a bit old but i hope it'll do the trick.

I found an answer to another problem, that seemed to be very similar to yours.

You can work around it with the cube trick. Here is a video explaining how it works

Yes you can. Check out this video. It explains what steps to follow to export your material from substance to Cinema 4d.

Maybe it has something to do with your antivirus software. Sometimes extensions like F-Secure can block downloads. Try clearing your cache and then update your browser and your extension ans see if it works.

Click on texture set settings and add a displacement. When you do this nothing will happen yet. Go to shader settings afterwards and enable Parallax Occlusion Mapping. There you can adjust the strength and the min /max samples. The model might look ab bit strange after that. Select the layer you need and click on channel mapping. The displacement option is automatically selected as basecolor. Just change that into hight and ur good to go. ALso see this
