Yeah, that was what I as doing (creating a preset from scratch), but somehow it still did not work.

That said, it should really be possible update a preset.

I had to update my nVidia drivers for iRay to work after updating Designer. (But I did see a "CUDA not supported" message).

"You cannot modify an existing preset (you will have to create a new one and delete the wrong one)"

Any idea when modifying presets will be possible?

The whole system is very confusing at the moment.

Edit: more like completly broken? Settings don't seem to be stored even when I make a new preset from scratch.

Bumping this. I ran into a situation today where I could really use this.

I would love this. Even a more simple "Copy Settings / Paste Settings" would be a great timesaver.

I'm still looking for an asnwer to this (either a solution of confirmation that add/sub is broken).

Your last node in your Pixel Processor is not yellow, so I think you forgot to set it as the Output Node (right-click -> Set as Output Node).

Are the nodes that create your normal set to 16bit, and are you exporting the normalmap at 16 bit?

It should not show up on relatively smooth shapes like this, but it would be my first thing to test.

Is it this file?

I can open it with SD 6.0.4 without issues. Maybe your download got corrupted, try downloading it again?

You cannot have multiple layers in a single JPG file. Also, a JPG is a lossy format with compression, I would suggest using a lossless format (tga, png, tiff).

To export all maps, use your second mouse button on your graph in Explorer Window and select "Export Outputs as Bitmaps", See attachment.

A separate parameter window is a great idea. I'm doing a lot of work exposing parameters as well, and the back and forth gets very tiring.

I still haven't got this figured out. Allegorithmic support said that this is not a bug, because the Add/Sub blend mode only applies to blending between the pattern (not the background). However, I still cannot get it it work.

I made a new test file with a pattern containing only black and neutral gray.

The documentation says:

The Add Sub blending mode works as following:
Foreground pixels with a value higher than 0.5 are added to their respective background pixels.
Foreground pixels with a value lower than 0.5 are substracted from their respective background pixels.

Since my pattern has only values lower than 0.5, all blending should be substractive. When I input this pattern in the Tile Sampler (or Tile Generator) with Add/Sub blending, then the result has white colors:

Note that the same setup with the regular Blend node and 'Add/Sub' blending has no white colors, and the Blend node with 'Add' blending looks exactly the same as the Tile Sampler output.

I looked at the FX map for the Tile Generator node, the function that controls the blendmode is overriding the Add/Sub blend mode (3) to a Add blend mode (0):

So it seems Add/Sub is broken, and for the Tile Generator node it is being disabled/overridden on purpose?

I've attached the test file.

Check if you have the connector names enabled. Sometimes this switches off for me as well.

With Display Connector Name enabled you see the name of the input when you hover over it.

I haven't used Substance Painter much, good to hear something like this is already implemented in Painter. That hopefully means it should be easy to add to Substance Designer as well?

When creating materials, I find it very valuable to compare the various maps to make sure they are consistent. For example, does the dirt in the albedo line up exactly with the pits in the normalmap?

I can click on the output maps and view them in the 2D View, but this is a bit akward (lots of clicking) and I cannot compare it with the exact same place in the shaded 3D View.

It would be super useful if there was a shortcut key makes the 3D View cycle through the flat and unlit maps. Then I could zoom in the right place in the 3D view, and press a button to cycle through the maps like this:
