Hi

Im doing some tests as it seems when you mix dielectrics such as plastic with conductive metals the metalness workflow in Redshift seems to not produce the correct reflections for the plastic.  If I add some value to the Reflectiveness which is normally black it gives some reflections back to the plastics but that's not right and does not look correct.  Does it seem dielectrics are not getting the correct fresnel?  Same HDR used in both renders.

My perpetual license ran out of maintenance a while ago and does not have the option to add another maintenance but it does for an upgrade.  My question is does getting an upgrade get me all features for the next year assuming the upgrade has maintenance for a year with it, not just bug fixes bug features? for v2020?

Im in the Uk and its getting closer to the deadline for the last chance to add a maintenance to my perpetual licence on Oct 31st 2020.

As I dont want to miss it or add it a day early what time zone falls within the 31st as to when I should purchase it.  I dont want to lose a day in case a last update under that maintenance comes out 31st Oct 2021 when mine would expire 30th?

Hi Guys.

Being BlackFriday has a deal on maintenance upgrades and its 28th Nov 2019, If I wish to get my last maintenance on 31 Oct 2020 it would mean my maintenance would overlap by just over a month.  Can I purchase a overlapping maintenance as If not id lose my last chance to get that extra year of upgrades just because getting a maintenance upgrade today will exceed its cover past Oct 31 2020?

Is there a time limit to get a new maintenance for Perpetual licence?  I see changes coming since Adobe was running things and anticipate there is or will be a deadline to get my last maintanance, whats the low down on these things?

I must get the feature painting across texture sets/UDIMS.

Hi.

I see Substance painter has skin materials from XYZ.  I wonder what the workflow is to get these projected down for accurate skin placement?  I also wonder if there is a  general workflow simular to Mari in order to select texture patches rotate, scale and even nudge textures or manipulate them before stamping them down?

Hi

I purchased Substance Painter outright as a perpetual licence and later realised that I had no access to Substance Source.  As time went on it became more and more apparent that this extra access is essencial because there is no other way to access it?

As my maintanance period comes to a end at the end of this month I am wondering If I should just go the rent to own route as I still get to keep that latest version after a year but I have a whole years access to source.  I keep getting emails for these great new substances that I cant get access to, should allegorithmic at least consider allowing for some paid for access on a year or monthly basis?

Im using C4D R19 Studio with  Vray4C4D 3.6 .  I have two materials I can use a Standard Mtl and Advanced Material which I prefer myself.

I use the preset Vray to get the texture out, and followed the Maya setup.

Diffuse = Diffuse colour
Reflection= Spec Colour
Glossyness = Reflection Glossyness
IOR = Fresnel IOR (specular layer transparency)
Normal = Normal
Height = Bump

It seems that this also works for Vray4c4d, but iv been told who is significantly more knowledgeable in Vray than me that my set up is wrong yet the suggested set up does not work and looks completely wrong.  Can someone  please tell me if there is a right way to set this up?  The discrepancy is all in the IOR map, if it should be used at all, and that a map is said to be used within 90 degree slot.

This is my first post here.  Im quite new to Substance Painter and this is the first project Iv used it on.  This piece of artwork was created at the end of 2017 as a personal project in which I re-done the clothing after getting Substance Painter, what a wonderful painting program.

Hello

Im new to substance Painter and thought id get access to Substance Rescource but to my shot I dont and even worse I cant even subscribe to get Substances?  Im looking for the best alternitives for substances other than Substance share?

I kind of wish I had purchaes Subatance Indie pack to get all their apps so I could make my own.  Im mainly am after cloth and fabric for Marvellous Designer clothing.

Id like to see a deformer pre projection such as Zbrush has to deform the projection.  Mari has a even better method using a Photoshop like Pupet Warp mesh.

Hi

When I work in Zbrush I find the ideal map size for me is not 4k or 8k, but 6k.  I like to be able to choose more intermediate texture sizes rather than have it double or nothing.  Even better would be a custom input size?

Im demoing Painter, have started painting a area of my model which has clean Uvs no overlapping, yet Painter is bleeding colour onto other areas of model.  Im painting the scaf in red yet the jacket has paint on it?

Hello

The sale has got me looking at Painter and now its only avalible on Steam im trying to check this software out as quick as I can to evaulate it.  This software has to be the most crash prone software iv ever encountered, and thats saying somthing.

It randomly crashes when I go to open a file, no error report it just vanishes.  Im in the middle of painting, again crashes.  I added the td delay or what ever its called to the registry so it dont pop up and state thats a issue?  Im not getting any slow down or anything.

Im looking onto purchasing SP and am demoing the software right now.  I have a human split into 4 textures sets as its called in Substance, they are basicly UDIM tiles.  Now Im painting skin, I set a base level general skin which I put all layers into a folder then set it to instance across all texture sets, only a solid colour shows on other texture sets unless I choose to make it a smart material.

Second problem is seams, I can see this being the deal breaker for me as im hand painting skin that must be seamless but its far from that.  Trying to hand paint at the edge of the seam between the neck and head just dont work, so what do you do?

I think its awesome software from my first impressions, but the inability to paint across seams is one huge factor thats making me hold off purchasing it.
