SubstanceSubstance - Discussions - Linux support
 on: October 31, 2014, 10:25:34 pm
Hi guys,

Now that Substance Painter has reached final release, can we expect a linux version any time soon ?

I have been reading words from developpers talking about it here and there :

Any update or progress so far ?

I have been messing with Substance Designer for almost a month now and recently I came across a weird issue with my UVs and Substance.

First I have created a new graph and a base metal texture by combining noises and uniform color.

The thing is, when I then apply this procedural material to my mesh a thin black line appear near the UV edge but not everywhere...

Do you guys happen to know where the problem is coming from ?

It's really irritating.

Thanks in advance for your support

I was wondering if I could take advantage of the power of B2M in my workflow in Blender ? If yes with which render engine ? If no, are you planning to make it possible in the near future ?

Last question, any chance to be able to run your application on Linux platform ?

Thanks in advance

I have bought Substance Painter a few days ago, and I have been experimenting with its feature since then. I am using Blender as my main 3D package, but when I export all my maps from substance painter back into blender seams appear on the model that were not present in Substance painter.

Do you know a way to fix that ?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hello everyone,

As part of a game development project, we would like to test out Substance Designer 4 in our pipeline, to see whether it meets our need for creating high quality textures.

The thing is we can't even get the installer to work. We have already downloaded it twice, and each time we try to run it, we get a NSIS error with the following message :

"Installer integrity check has failed. Common causes include incomplete download or damage media. Contact the install's author to obtain a new copy"

Could you please tell us what's wrong with the file ? Again, we have made several downloads from different machines.

Thanks for your help.
