Awesome work.

How many texture sets you used for this? And their res?

I haven't used RenderMan, but,  PBR Metal / Rough is Pixar's shading model.  So I'm pretty sure you should be good to go and have very similar results to what you're seeing in Designer (you won't get 1:1 parity due to rendering limitations of real time viewport in Designer).

Change the normal channel blending to "normal". It defaults to "Normal Details" which will blend the normals from underlying layers.
Same goes for height channel, it default to Linear Dodge (add) so if you want to just 'copy' something on top, change the blending to normal.

You need to assign them to "basematerials" they will then appear under your materials sub menu, and also, maybe under project sub menu

you can already do this.
I'd recommend subscribing to the youtube channel.. it's there for a reason, and Wes is awesome at covering these features.

maybe he's referring to the Generators sub shelf, it was missing for me as well, but I watched the video Wes created, and creating custom sub shelves is easy now! so I just added it back myself

you might want to have a look at the presentation from substance days, there was 1 artist who works in vfx and uses substance for his texturing.

a normal map isn't mandatory.  I just recommend you bake the other maps so you have full control of the mask generators.

Well, if you want the sub menu buttons closer to the center of viewport. Then dock everything at the top portion of the viewport hahah.

Hahahaha, I find it funny that everyone begged for Allego to re-design the shelf system for so long, and here you are asking to go back to the old one :P

Anyway, if you create a sub-shelf from a category, you can dock it anywhere you like, which means you can dock them side-by-side like the old shelf system.

Try increasing the padding size of the bakes. You can never go wrong with a high number, because it will just stop padding once it hits another UV shell padding.  I just bake with padding of 64 all the time.

Usually when I install updates, the installer recognizes previous versions and installs in the same directory, but this version (5.5.3) isn't.

Is it safe to manually browse to the install path of previous version and let the installer overwrite stuff?

I just need my settings to remain untouched, that's all that matters haha.

Thanks Froyok, that was the issue.

I've baked my maps using Knald, for some reason SP doesn't preview the normals correctly, I thought it's using Mikkt?

Toolbag, after setting the mesh to Mikkt:

The normals on the mesh are all set to soft except for the UV boundaries, they are set to hard.
