Substance Integrations - UE4 - Substance Plugin in Squad

Hi guys. Does anyone know how to integrate the substance designer plugin into squad? I tried copying and pasting the plugin to the correct folder, but i got several DLL errors. Squad uses UE 4.14.3. Thanks in advance. Cheers!

I have 2 email adresses in use (so 2 allegorithmic accounts). My own domain for my website will expire, so the email adress i have there will too, how do i transfer my licenses to my other email adress?

It would be cool if we could add presets to a substace on substance share the same way you can add images. That saves you from having to upload a new ZIP.

I think this is a bug: When i have an iray render going, i try to save the viewport image to disk, and it crashes substance. Im using an aperture of 5, and a 2K material on a high density cylinder.

Im trying to get a heightmap inside the normal map's alpha channel. It seems no matter how i set it up, unreal/substance plugin puts something else in there:

Only the alpha channel is displayed.

in Substance im doing this: (to be absolutely sure the information i want is in the normalmap.

I've had a few complaints, and after checking for myself, there is a problem with the Camo material i made for Substance Share. (I could be in thr wrong topic here, since its made in SD, if so, sorry mods!).

When opening the SBS, the hue slider works as expected, but when publishing the substance, the hue slider cannot be altered, even though its an exposed parameter, and visible as such.

Hey guys!

A feature i would love (and that might not be impossible to port over) is having the same particle brush options as Substance Painter has. That would help alot with weathering a material for a non-seamless material, like rain/fluid marks etc.

Having that could make awesome mask generators to hook up to parameters.


Hi guys, i made a substance that takes inputs, (height, roughness, basecolour, metallic), and adds puddles to the material.

The outputs are basecolour, normal, roughness, metallic, AO and height.

Somehow, when used as an .sbs, the roughness is only affected in the areas i want it to, but when published, the roughness map gets way darker, messing up the material.

The .sbsar also forces roughness to be 8 bit, regardless of my settings.

What am i doing wrong?

I love to use the fiber glass edge wear to add small details like scratches to surfaces, but for some reason since the last update, it doesn't allow using a custom grunge, meaning earlier work i made with it, now has the striated look, instead of the custom grunge I fed it. Will this be fixed next release?

What im really missing is a Voronoi cells noise with manhattan distribution.

This type of noise is very useful for sci-fi type materials (circuitry, panels, greebles, ship hulls).

Under the Tech header are examples.

(Right now i have to resort to Genetica to export patterns like that, but that bloats my substances, having it in SD would be awesome).

Hi guys!

Im in the process of joining sketchfab to showcase my materials in an interactive way, and noticed that there are exporters for some applications that let you export directly to your 3d portfolio.

It might be cool to have that as an option in the future for Substance Designer. It would certainly get Allegorithmic even more exposure, as well as the artists themselves.

*Edit, it seems there is an exporter for painter already. Would be neat to have it as an option for SD as well.

After I reinstalled SD (latest version), my workspace keeps resetting every time I start it again after a crash. Is there a way to save the workspace?

Hi guys, I just updated since the message said it was a recommended update.

Thing is, when I start a new substance, or open en existing one, it immediately crashes. Perhaps this has something to do with the 3d view initializing?

Hi guys,

One of my submissions (the crime scene substance, for the urban category in the SDMC), wasn't approved since i didn't export with dependencies, so when I fixed it and wanted to edit the submission so it can get approved, this error appears:
  We're sorry, but something went wrong.  If you are the application owner check the logs for more information.
 Are there any pointers to how i can submit the updated substance? The archive I'm adding was zip. Perhaps it should be rar? Not sure what I'm doing wrong here.
