I have been watching tutorials and one of the option looks like taking information from Normal map, then plug into curvature and with histogram range you create roughness

but if you already have multi angle images, like 8  angle images.  how you can pull the specular information and create the roughness ?
I couldn't find any information online on that.

any idea?

Looks like I don't have cloth mesh under scene menu? I have all the others cube, cylinder etc but not cloth.
 Is this  something we load ourselves?

I purchased 2 flower and 1 leaves sbsar files and tried to open in Substance player, and all of them gave error.
The error that i get
Linking : Linker Version 6.0.0  0xd2aa30f2 Jan 12 2019
Linking : Started.
Link process failed: Invalid assembly or version.

so how can i fix this issue?

I will when I open that project again but now also I experienced something similar,  i am working on another project, first threshold  works when I go up and down and trying to find a best spot, then if I go to another nod and then come back, it doesn't work anymore.. it is weird..

detect edges on true by the way

For some reason Detect Edge don't work, yesterday when I was working on another project that has the same set up, it  worked, but today, even I lower down or up threshold nothing happens to the edges. Is there a bug? or what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks for the reply. I am using 2.1, I am trying open a project that I saved before, I can see all the saved files in  json files and sbsar but not .alch files. where are they?
I checked both these links

I am having a similar problem, I didn't change any folder location, but when I click open project I can only see recent projects, and when I  click import file to load one of my previous saved project,  this link open, C:\Program Files\Allegorithmic\Substance Alchemist

but the project folders are not there

all the project files in C:\Users\Pin\AppData\Roaming\Allegorithmic\Substance Alchemist\createdMaterials

 folder as json. but I can not open them.

So how can I access and open them?

Sorry, I don't know of any tutorials as I don't really seek them out and learn more so by just diving in.

If I was presented with this problem where I wanted to keep the pattern I would export my view and create my mask in another software, then import it back under a fill layer by using a mask with a fill filter on the mask and dropping the mask in.

Example:







With such a mask I can change the colour to anything I want or fill it with another material:

How you create your mask depends on the tools you have outside of Painter. The more complex the pattern the more effort required, and having good UVs will make masking much easier to create.

You'll want to create a mask and use that to direct where your textures show.

Thank you! very much for the reply. So here where I am going to create the mask? like creating another fill layer and mask that? Sorry I am kinda new so my question might sound stupid but trying to find out.. or is there anoy tutorial on this subject that I can look for it?

Looks like I posted on wrong discussion page yesterday..  I am trying to find out how can I keep the pattern this big  but change the texture? when I scale the material texture  the pattern gets smaller too..   or like how can I add another texture and use this pattern this big? or how can I just scale  the texture of this material smaller and keep the pattern as big as this? if you have any idea please let me know.. Thanks!!
