SubstanceSubstance - Purchases & Licenses - Re: how i download
 on: April 24, 2018, 08:48:00 pm
Not a solution, but you can always download them from the website if you're needing them quickly.

I have a similar question. If I stop my monthly payments for my subscription will I lose access to the points I already have? I actually have many more points than I can currently find materials for.

Stopped my payments recently and didn't lose the points.

Thanks for the clarification Nicolas.

The plugin is working with Corona brilliantly! Even with Corona Interactive! Great job Allegorithmic and especially the 3ds Max team, I've been waiting for this day for a long long time.

I did have some toruble installing it at first as well but I uninstalled the plugin with the plugin uninstaller found in: \Program Files\Autodesk\ 3ds Max 2018\

I also removed the old plugin from: \AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2018 - 64bit\ENU\usermacros

After that I reinstalled the new plugin, and restarted the computer. Works perfectly after that with no more error messages.

Hello, I was curious if I get to keep my accumulated Substance Source points if I switch from subscription to perpetual?

Also, what's the difference between the definitive licence and the perpetual licence? from the FAQ:

"To obtain a definitive license, you will have to complete 8 monthly payments to get either Substance Painter or Substance Designer, 5 monthly payments for Substance B2M, and 16 monthly payments for Substance Pack."

In the plugin menu, i don't have the option "substance to corona".
Is it normal (see attached screenshot) ?

The plugin is still in beta, that option isn't in there yet.

...I just found it annoying that it isn't possible to do this.

Can you post an image of an example of what you're after?

Follow this link and scroll down to the 'Substance Plugin For Max' and download as appropriate :). It does however only say its available for Max 2018.

That's still the beta plug-in, is it not?

Can we get an update on the release of the plugin? We've been told its coming in 'weeks' for months.

The plug-in is still in beta, I don't think there is an Octane conversion yet.

You could convert to Vray then use a Vray to Octane converter, that's what I'm doing with Corona at the moment.

B2M is also a node inside of Substance Designer, no need to go through B2M standalone.

Obviously building your own computer will get you a way better value for your money, but if you're dead set on a pre-built:

What are you using the computer for? If you're main focus is rendering I could go with a CPU with more than 4-cores. Ryzen CPUs are perfect for this industry if you're on a budget. If you're an Intel fan go with a CPU from their i9 series. 16GB of RAM is not ideal either, if you go with 16GB at least make sure there is room to add more if you wanted to in the future. I would highly recommend a SSD, at least a small one to put your OS on. a 256-512GB SSD with a 1-2TB HDD for storage would probably suit you a lot better.

Everything else seems good.

Hi James,
This is currently planned and will be available soon.  :D

Beautiful, I've been waiting for this moment for years. Good work Allegorithmic!

Any chance we can get a Substance > Corona preset in the beta? if it's not a huge deal to add. Looking forward to testing it out.

Well I may have posted too soon. A simple Cells 4 got me most of the way there! Feel free to provide some input though if you have any ideas.
