So apparently after uninstalling "Chitubox" everything seems to be running fine again. May I ask why that is??? In any case, glad I got things working.

I am having the exact same problem. Checked the Chitubox issues and restarted but SP still won't let me pick a Mesh/File as it will constantly crash at that very part.

Can anybody tell me why this is happening all of a sudden when yesterday the same version of Substance Painter was working just fine? When I currently try to set up a new project and click on "Select" which then opens the file explorer, SP then decides to crash. See video:

So as it stands I can't set up any new projects at all. Not even with a previous version of SP. I need to get this sorted before Monday as I have client work to do!

Thanks in advance,

Thomas Pasieka

It would be super useful to be able to export my settings as preset if at all possible? Let's assume I have many objects and I want them to get the same lighting/color treatment.... currently I have to do it all by hand and recreate the same settings.

Substance PainterSubstance Painter - Feature Requests - Painter User Interface
 on: December 21, 2015, 02:20:40 pm
Hey there everybody,

I often find myself looking for the right button/feature in Painter due to the fact that most everything looks the same. Everything has the grey/dark grey color with very little to no color indication of different features. This is actually a rather important and serious matter as it puts a lot of strain on my eyes and nerves. I am sure I am not the only one thinking that way. I love Painter (and Designer) but I really wish time was taken to address the situation and really think the UI through. If anyone has thoughts on this I'd love to hear them chime in!

* Yes B2M3 has worked before and rarely crashed.
* Yes I am using a 2 monitor setup and used to have the 3D on a different screen.
* I just dragged the main screen to the other monitor and reset the layout. Doesn't crash now! This seems to indicate that B2M3 doesn't like something about multi-monitor setups.

So from the looks of it we exposed the bug. At least I can work with it once again atm so thanks for having me check your list.

Any news/updates on this?

Hi Wes,

I am running Windows 8.1 using:

GPU: GeForce 780 SC
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K CPU @3.50GHZ
Memory: 16GB RAM
Resolution: 1920x1080, 60Hz (Dual Monitor)
Driver: 347.52

Hi there,

Currently I can't use B2M3 as it will crash every time I try to open the "3D View". Trying to reset the layout will also end up in B2M3 crashing. So I am stuck and can't really use it for much atm. Any help? See attached video...

this looks amazing! Do you mind sharing how did you use SD in this project?

Thanks mate. SD was used to bake Curvature, AO, etc maps which I then exported to be used in Painter.

@michael_11 - There is currently no way to make a window fullscreen. All one can do is tear off the viewport and move it to another screen if you have a dual monitor setup.

That's a lovely model right there! Textures are looking great on this guy! The cape seems to be a tad too shiny for me though :)

Thanks! Each and every piece was carefully designed before I started the actual modelling process using Maya LT. Everything has to look consistent in style so that's why we are going the extra mile. It's fun seeing it come together from 2D Design to finished 3D piece. Below are the concepts/designs for each piece. There are plenty more in the works currently.

Hey there everybody :)

Thought I'd share some of my recently finished pieces using Substance Painter and Designer. The shown furniture pieces are for an Oculus Rift Project using Unity 5 (currently in beta). I am having a good time with version 1.0 of Painter so far! Videos of the models can be seen here:
