Hi everyone,

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.  I have a scene with lots of objects and textures I want to import into substance.  I had originally used substance to create the individual textures, but I'm going through the process of re-treating the look (and it would be easier if I could edit a section with all the objects at the same time).

Does anyone know if you can export FBX with textures that can then be loaded into substance without having to manually connect everything again?

Thanks.

Kris.

Substance PainterSubstance Painter - Showcase - Alien Head
 on: December 29, 2020, 05:16:55 pm
This is a model I’ve been playing with off and on for the last little while since creating the initial doodle in Zbrush.  I’m not sure if it’s an alien or fantasy type creature…but I think either work.  If you’re interested there are a few wips here:

And it works again.  I think it had something to do with my Cintiq Pro 16....when I turned it off it opened properly.  I then closed Substance, turned my Cintiq back on, relaunched Substance, and it's all good again.

Hi,

I've been using Substance on this computer for a while now, and all of a sudden it stopped opening.  It would look like it's starting, then go to a white page, where it just hangs.  I'm attaching my log file and a screen capture of what I see when trying to open it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Substance PainterSubstance Painter - Showcase - Ma'at

This was a practice sculpt based on the Egyptian Goddess Ma'at. I used Substance Painter for textures, and Maya Xgen for the hair.

If interested,  you can check out a few more wips here:

Ok, thanks for the detailed reply.  I appreciate it.  It would be cool if it's added in to the default baking set.

Cheers.

Hi,

If there's an answer to this please point me in the right direction.  But, I have a high resolution and low resolution zbrush model and I'd like to bake the height map in Substance so that I can see the displacement on my file when I tessellate it (similar to how you can see height on other materials in Painter).  I realize I can spit out height maps from zbrush, and apply them in Substance, but can this be done directly in Painter when I'm baking out all my other maps?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all,

I feel like I'm missing something.  I'm using the latest version of Substance Painter, but can't find the Displacemet and Tessellation settings.  It's vaguely outlined in the online documentation but I can't find those options to turn displacement on.  Is it specific to certain shaders?  If so, which ones?

Cheers.

Kris.
