Ahh haaa! So it has somthing to do with the files in the folder that is was trying to start out in. Substance painter must try to load some info automatically on those files and then crashes. Which is a pretty bad software flaw.

Work around: Rename the folder that it is trying to start out in so it goes somewhere else instead when you hit select.

To software devs: Could you please make it so no matter what files are in the folder where substance painter first looks it will not crash. Please disable its auto meta data and what ever data auto loading file sniffing thing so it does not crash like this please.

So I do a fresh clean install, yes all my graphics drivers are up to date
- Launch Substance Painter
- File > New
- New File Dialogue Box > File: [Select]
** Crash **
Anyone know how to get around this or have a solution. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Substance Designer - Technical Support - Darken Shadows

Howdy, I was wondering is there a way to darken shadows in designer. I have some very deep valleys in my material but they can only get to a certain level of dark no mater how deep they are. I was wondering if there is a way to darken the shadows or occluded areas in the scene so I can read its shape more easily. Please excuse me if I am using the wrong terminology, still learning.
Any help is greatly appreciated ^_^

Howdy all;
Anyone know how do I save a SBAR file from within Bitmap2Material?
It is confusing that there isn't just a file > save as button.
I am currently trying to save out a SBAR file so I can use it with the UE4 plugin.
Any help is greatly apreciated
