Thats something i also dont understand... I have a older license and no current plan active, now im getting the option "Upgrade to Substance Designer - Indie License (from SD5)" for 50 USD. Is this a update just for Substance Designer or for the whole pack ? and for how long is the license valid ?

hey guys,
I just tried the new Substnace Painter casue im still on version 1... However im missing one important generator, its a rust generator with peeling effect on the sites... I alreday checked Substance Share for the SP1 generators but this particular Rust generator from SP1 is not avaiable for download. Any reason why it was removed ?

ok very cool, i didn't saw it. Thank you very much!

SubstanceSubstance - Purchases & Licenses - SP2 Live Subscription
 on: March 16, 2016, 10:54:28 pm
hey guys,
Do you guys have any plans to continue the Live subscription offer or let's say extend it for SP2?
I never used the Live subscription model but it would be nice to have the possibillity to update to SP2 by monthly payments...

Thanks again.
Basically i'm familiar with PBR/PBS, i know it's the same... But if you worked like from beginning with the PBR workflow and than you have to change to the PBS workflow things can get confuising  :o :o :o ???

Never mind  :-X ... It works without problems.
I connected just the BaseColor to the converter, without specular and glossiness. This gave me obviously a wrong result.
I'm not used to PBS so some things are a bit unclear... PBR seems a lot more logical for me.

Thank you very much for your help!

thank you for the quick answer... Ok got it... but why is the converted basecolor slot grey and not black ?

hey guys,
I noticed a strange issue with some of the materials, after using a simple steel material i noticed that the diffuse slot stays always Black, even if the steel color is set to grey... So i used the base color slot in combination with the PBR/PBS node to convert the BaseColor to a Diffuse Color, the result was not black it was grey...

So which value is the right one ? the black or thr grey one ? I'm gussing the diffuse slot has some kind of error, so it shows up always black ?

hey guys,
I'm trying to create some new ceramic tile textures, actually ceramic tiles with a diamond patten but i can't figure out how to create a proper diamond pattern in SD, would be nice if someone could give me a tip.

I created some simple ceramic tiles and twisted them  "Angle 45" with a transformation 2D node but i got 2 issues,  The tiles are no longer seamless and the diamond pattern isn't locking right, not like a real diamond pattern.

thanks for your tip, i'm also thinking to do it in engine... I just found the multi switch grayscale node which also works...
And thanks again for the UE4 tip, it's a really good idea to put the 3 masks on the R G B chanels and than multiply them by a conszant 3 vector.

hey guys,
I'm in the progress of creating some traffic light textures but i'm wondering how i can setup a substance where i can change the different light colos later in UE4? basically i'm looking for a node which can change between the 3 masks Red, Yellow and Green to swich between the different colors ... Any help would be great, thanks!

I also don't understand why epic is waiting so long to update the plugin for the marketplace, substnace is really essential for some users...

ok cool, thanks! thats all i wanted to know.

ok that means sbs files when imported into UE4 take naturaly more space or let's better say vram ?
