Hey Govind,

did you save the custom Alpha as a square image? Maybe this causes the issue and Substance Painter can just use square images instead of rectangular ones for Alpha.

Best Regards

Thanks for the prompt reply Fabian,

I double checked, it isn't a square image. Here's a screen grab from Photoshop.

While watching SPainter tutorials, I saw Wes using rectangular alpha on brush to create panels.
Now, no matter how I bring my textures (for alpha) in SPainter, it seems to adjust itself to square. Attached an image - my alpha's map is rectangular but the brush is square.
I created the texture in Photoshop and exported as .png, sure I must be missing something, but really not able to figure it out.

Appreciate any help coming this way,
Thank You

Amazing work Tim, really enjoyed all your renders

awesome work

A quick update, I think this is a new feature in Sp 1.4, I am using SP 1.2 something version, cause thats what my client had. I will request for an update.
For now it's alright, I got it done in Photoshop and imported the image back to SP. All good for now :)

Every new video there's a surprise, learning a lot of stuff. Awesome software!
Thanks guys!

Nice stuff

Awesome work voto, loved it

Looks awesome

Thank you Fabian,

I tried it, but instead of a straight line my env is moving around. I mean the HDRi rotates.
Do I need to switch something on before I use the key combination you mentioned?

Hi Wes, I am new here. Still learning Substance Painter/Designer and I love your tutorials on YouTube.

I was trying to follow your methods for straight line (from the link above), however no matter how my texture is shaped the alpha is always square. I tried painting with an elongated rectangle, like the one you use in your video, but I still get a square in my brush. Any idea what I am missing. I am using a png image.

Thank You
