Substance PainterSubstance Painter - Feature Requests - Autosave
 on: August 13, 2014, 10:50:56 am
I think an autosave would be extremely useful

As far as I know, the opacity of an object is not currently displaying in the viewport.
This would be useful for painting eyebrows, eyelashes etc...

Unless I'm missing something, I believe that the Step feature of an exposed parameter is still not working in substance player.

It'd be great to have a Tint Jitter for our brushes. Zbursh poly paint allows this. It's called "colour intensity variance" and works great for painting skin.

Substance DesignerSubstance Designer - Technical Support - reducing texture
 on: September 24, 2013, 04:07:56 pm
Could you guys please let me know what is the easiest (and cheapest) way to reduce a texture's size?
If I use the transform2d node, I get either a pixelated version or a blurred one, as the texture is mipmaped.
I can use a tiled generator, and only tweak the 1st two parameters, but it seams a bit over the top considering the task I'm after.

I'm not sure if this has been suggested already (sorry if it has).
Being able to change the common options of a selections of node simultaneously would be a super nice feature. For example, all nodes have a method of inheritance. Selecting a bunch of different nodes and passing them from "relative to parent" to "absolute" in one single click would save us quite a bit of time.

Substance DesignerSubstance Designer - Feature Requests - overview of inheritance

A system to overview the method of inheritance would be welcome.
Before I export a complex graph, I usually check all my nodes to make sure that the inheritance mode is set up correctly. Clicking on every single node to check their state is time consuming.
It would be nice to have a small inheritance icon appearing next to all the nodes present in the graph when the user holds a key. Maybe "i" for inheritance.

Substance DesignerSubstance Designer - Feature Requests - Static Switch system
 on: September 18, 2013, 02:33:30 pm
I'm looking for a feature that I believe we're currently missing: a switch node (a bit like a static switch in unreal). Let's explain myself with an example:
I create a substance to create a basic leather texture, export it to be used with the player. I will be using this substance as it is 90% of the time. But from time to time, I'll be wanting to add some dirt to this texture, meaning adding quite a few nodes in the substance and therefor quite a few extra parameters in the player. For clarity sake, I'd like to expose these extra features only when I'm using the dirt node and not if I'm not using it.
In this case a switch called "use dirt" would be super useful.
Please let me know if the request is not clear, I'd be happy to have a chat about it.
