with my current perpetual plan with Substance Painter, if I choose to upgrade to a subscription, and then cancel my subscription, will I still have access to Painter after the subscription is cancelled, or do I need the subscription active in order to use the software?

Does upgrading to a subscription change your current license or does it give you a new one?

Just thought I'd pop on by here to share my latest. R2D2 from star wars. This was textured entirely with substance painter, and was actually a fun way to get myself into designer too, to make the little procedural patterns for his lights. :) Ive done a bunch of iterating and have actually made a few variations of this, with different colors and such, which substance has been an incredible help with. Being able to mask select regions of my geo has been a HUGE time saver for something like that.

found a happy place to call this guy done. i had a blast working with substance painter on this. cant wait to get texturing on my next piece now.

Thanks everyone.

Jeremy, after having gone back a day after and working on the material a bit more, the orange one to me just felt altogether too fake, almost like it was a toy or something. i definitely feel like i can scale back some of the dirt/dust on the current version though, ill play around with my layers and see what sort of result i can get.

this being my first time using substance, i did not realize that the height information was converted to the normal map on export, and i had the wrong normal map plugged into my last couple renders. it was most apparent on the bag in the back, which ive since fixed :)

Been working on a speeder bike model from Return of the Jedi. Just started messing around with painter the other day and i gotta say, im loving it. Here's my current wip.

In substance 1.2 there was a "previous blend" parameter inside of a substance effect which allowed you to paint ontop of an effect, in order to mask it. Im not entirely sure how to do this now when adding generators. Is this still possible?

The current version of substance i have installed is 1.2.1 (not connected with steam). When I go to Help > Check for update, i get an error message saying Unable to check if a new version is available. Check your network connection and try again. My network connection is fine, as I am currently able to access this, or any other, website at the moment.
