So I can't have a perpetual license like the 2 other products I already have ? Or at least an annual license, separated from Painter and Designer (so cheaper) ?

What can I say ?
Better to say nothing, I guess.

As of today, Quixel is part of Epic, Mixer and Bridge is free from now on... maybe Adobe will think about the whole situation?

We are truly at a "wait and see" stage here, and the Allegorithmic guys deserve the benefit of the doubt. Every possible question and speculation has been covered in this thread. The deal is done so let's just wait and see how it shakes out.

Yeah, I would like to do that - but the 'Allegorithmic guys' are not in control any more - Adobe is. Read the bottom of this web page 'Substance by Adobe' - Allegorithmic no longer exists.

Adobe only has the SAAS business model.

If the perpetual model remains for Substance painter it will likely only be for the version current before the take-over.

I am pretty sure it will all be a good thing if you like the SAAS model. But if not, learn to love your current perpetual version, it is likely to eventually be a dinosaur.

And you are right - the deal is done - we have no option but to see what happen.

Yes Adobe is in control (nothing new here), and Adobe has decided to pursue with subscription and perpetual, as explained in the post above, because we (people from Adobe including us) have decided that it was the right thing to do.

Imagining different alternative scenarios can be a good exercise, but you cannot build conclusions (and especially explain what people should do) based on this. Take a look at the article, that's the current situation and facts to make your own opinion.

Thank you Vincent - this sounds great! And now please get your company to add a maintenance option / upgrade path for our other Adobe products. This might boost Adobe from zero to Hero. I did not upgrade my Ps since CS6Ex - guess why ...

Nothing has to be casted in stone forever. Adobe has seen the reaction of your user base. Why not swap over to your current Allegorithmic license system? Perpetual licenses plus maintenance gives everbody more confidence.

Ok, we have to accept your decision. And vice versa. How about a poll how the A-license system should look like in the near future?

Once again nothing at all has been decided. We noticed (and already knew) that perpetual license would be on top of the list of the concerns (even if ironically it's by far the least purchased option, but the fact that "it's possible" is key)

So as we don't do bullshit messages: nothing is decided yet, multiples options are being discussed, for you guys, for current Adobe customers, so there are good chances to see different options to fit the different needs. So wait and see on this one.

I meant this in a constructive, positive way, no sarcasm applied Vincent. It is Sunday, opening a bottle from André Drappier might help to enjoy life....

wish you all the best, from a financial / safety point of view, I can understand your action, you're young and need the money, I did the same around 2000 and sold my IP to a world market leader in a different business. (well, wasn't the best decision in my life, another story)

A merger like yours is about 9 months or so, time enough to be prepared for our reactions and give us clear and precise answers instead of marketing platitudes or vague oracles.

Things will cool down, you have made your decisions, so do we.

Another thing - I'm a bit disappointed you couldn't run that decision by your customers (we pay your salaries)  before making that decision. Like maybe a poll on the forum or something. That makes me think you don't really care what we think.

Ofcourse they dont care. And never did. They have a corporate soul, not a creative one.

I have to disagree 100000% with this. While I hate the decision to join Adobe; up to this point Allegorithmic has been one of the most customer friendly companies. They managed to
   Offer a great one of a kind product
   Keep cost low
   Offered sales and even let you exchange steam licenses for stand online version
   Had low cost upgrade prices

We will announce new licensing options later this year, but again, rest assure it will be cheap and have a lot of value, we wouldn't settle for anything else.

Will you still sell perpetuals?
I feel so #meedobe... argh!

Have abandoned Adobe CS6Ex, subscription only is modern slavery. Have abandoned foundry products due to their crappy license system. Will drop substance too if subscription only is offered. Hopefully 3dCoat will stay independent...

Time to raise fund.blender.org instead of feeding McAdobald...

The new batch of fabric materials are based on scanned data so there is no sbs associated since they are basically only a few nodes with the scanned images and the outputs.

Many thanks for your clarifications Jeremie. An additional tag <Bitmap based>, like at the old database pages, would be pretty helpful

Hi Jeremie, it seems the newly added materials from Allegorithmic don't include the sbs files. Could you pls fix this issue?

For now, the only way is through Live. You may be able to purchase stand-alone credit packages in the future but no promises.

So why not just add a <Substance Source Live Monthly Membership> option on the Substance Live page?

Substance Painter - Discussions - Painter To Daz Studio 4.9 - Export Options- best way?

Hi,

have just started to work with substance painter and I've seen several export options for VRAY, modo, etc.
To have an idea what to do I'll go the Iray manual at Daz to better understand their concept/approach to IRay shaders. Perhaps some of you have already custom settings for Daz and would post these here? Would be heavily  appreciated If not, I'll post these after a successful conversion...
