Actually I guess the file is always going to be the size of the input maps, which in most cases is more than the output maps. What a stupid idea! Please delete this thread :)

I'm trying to make a game that uses substance for 99% of my textures, and i'd like to do the same for my model assets. Would it be possible to export as an SBSAR? I know at some point your amount of painted masks would make it larger than just exporting raster images, but it would still be an interesting option.

You can't use a regular texture, you have to specifically import it as a Substance Input (select it from the file extension options on import).

Nothing? Plug something into the alpha channel of a texture before its output (channel mixer) and import that into UE4. Note the lack of texture alpha!

For whatever reason, when I reimport a substance it kills some (but not all) texture references in materials. Can I send an example project to someone?

You no longer need it - use flood fill.

When I give my baseColor an alpha, it's not carrying across to UE4.
