In Photoshop you can draw a gradient onto the canvas, I'm really wanting to do the same in SP. Is there any similar way to make a gradient onto an mesh?

Also been looking at a tutorial for FX-Map, and I think edge generators are great. So what I'm wanting to learn to do is ... 1) Randomly create and distort shapes 2) Populate those shapes randomly 3) Make area / path masks to populate along / around.

Not sure if I have to use an FX-Map for this.

Tried using Marmoset for height displacement and says "GPU support not detected". I guess it's hardware.

Unfortunately I don't have Tessellation. I have an Nvidia GT 640M, and it's probably the worst I've ever had. Also on an iMac, no idea what troubles that brings.

The middle image is a standard output, before Tri-Planar. I'm wanting it around the bottom of my mesh, but when I use the Tri-Planar node it flips it and covers some of the top.

I downsized the attached image to save size n space, sorry it's so small.

As laid out is, 3D view / then before Tri-Planar / and after. It's not working as I'd hoped. I'm sure u can see what's happened. ...

I asked this question before, how do I get height to work ? I was told to use relief amount and can't have height without a normal map. Thing is I get results nowhere near what I'm seeing other people can do.

In Painter referring to the UV-Projection / Tri-Planar Projection.
