After much thought I have decided to get a new copy of Photoshop to save any hassle. Then I will know it works.

so part from the camera View just like Photoshop when drawing hard/soft edge straight lines...nice I like things like that.

Thanks but that is an expensive try...I will have to wait for someone who actually knows for sure.

Thanks for the reply,  so is that is a no to Photoshop Elements??

I have tried looking for this info and for some reason I just cannot find it.

What is the lowest version of Photoshop that the PSD Export will work with and will it work with the latest version of Photoshop Elements? I know most, if not all, professionals will have the latest version of PS but some if us self taught beginners can't stretch to that expense...yet.

Much appreciated, thank you

Yeah tried that before and all I got was a HTML file. I went and installed Chrome so it is all good.

Hey Fabian that is cool, thank you, the only problem is that I use IE and it won't let me download the shader, all I get is text. I have seen this on a number of shaders in Share. I don't really want to use Firefox or Google etc but it looks like I may have to. Not your problem but I thought I should mention it. :)

PS opps my bad I see it is a text file not a zip.

Oh darn that puts a spanner in the works. Designer can export non PBR though, yes?

I did see height maps being mentioned but wasn't sure if they were true displacement maps, thanks for you replies, much appreciated.

While I am here can SP do displacement maps as all the vids I have watched not one mentions displacement. I do realise that your main aim is the Game market but from what I can make out SP can save out PBR and the old biased engine diffuse and spec maps and displacement is a key thing for 3delight given it has micro displacement at render time. For Iray I will bake out normal maps as IMHO that is better for resources than having to use Sub-D everything for displacement to work.

Yeah thank you that is what I thought. I render in Daz Studio Iray so having SP with Iray is a bonus. I am not a newbie at this I was just trying to figure out if Designer was needed for my workflow.

Hi I have been rendering images for over 6 years now I am just about to embark on making products for the DAZ3D store and I am not sure which Substance software I need. It will be for image and animation rendering, not games. I will be doing most of my modelling in Blender and I thought SP would suit my workflow for making PBR and biased materials to suit Iray and 3Delight. I have watched all the YouTube vids your YouTube page and I am still unsure if I need Designer as SP & B2M seems to do all I want.

So my question is what would Designer do for me that I can't with SP and B2M apart from the obvious of making new materials from scratch.
