SubstanceSubstance - Discussions - Re: Substance Store Substances?

The substance packs that are available so far appear to be authored by GameTextures and do not seem to be the same as in the Substance Database.  (Is this correct?) I hope the complete original database is eventually released either a la carte or in affordable packs.

I would personally prefer a $20 credit for a material pack than a $50 credit for one of these mood packs.  They are too specialized and I have zero interest in them.

You can make color ID maps in blender (baking and with an add-on).  However, for my purposes, masking by selecting UV shells is sufficient.

My flow:

In Blender: model, unwrap (create uv mapping), export to fbx
In Painter: import fbx, paint, export textures
In Blender: use exported textures in a PBR material, render

I occasionally use Designer to create base materials for use by Painter.  You may be able to get by with the base materials that come with Painter, Substance Share or Substance Library ($).

I believe you are correct regarding Painter 2.0 pricing.

Thank you.

I thought that the new light baking filter would bake height information into the base color channel but I can't seem to get it to work.

I have a texture set consisting of a cloth material below a layer of wrinkles (height only).  The attached pictures show the shirt material without filter and then the color channel with the filter applied.

Am I missing something or is this just not supported?

The solution for me is to output textures from Designer/Painter to use in a PBR shader node arrangement for Blender Cycles.  I hope that Blender someday provides a native PBR shader node.

It is strange that there is no direct link to it.  My solution is to just bookmark

No problem here.

I have the Windows upgrade and Painter 1.6.1 starts normally.

Hope someone has a solution for your setup.

Substance PainterSubstance Painter - Showcase - Some models of mine

Here are some models that I created in Blender and textured using Designer/Painter.

Brown Bess by James Boddie on Sketchfab

Mexican Infantry Shako 1836 by James Boddie on Sketchfab

Alamo Cannon by James Boddie on Sketchfab

Found it.  (It was strolled out of view.)

Just installed 5.3 and thought I would check out IRay but I can't find the Renderer menu in the 3D View window.

I have GTX 570ti with 358.50 driver in Windows 10 PC.

Try right clicking on the icon and selecting "Run as Administrator."  I think this is different from just running the program even if you are the administrator of the system.  You only need to do this for the registration process.  After that you should be able to launch the app as you normally do.

355.82 out today.  Crossing fingers.

There is a Quality parameter in the SVG's properties, if I recall correctly.  The default is 0 (the lowest).  Try increasing it.

(I am away from my workstation at the moment so I can't verify the this is the solution for you.)
