Usually, the publishing process is quick and error free. However, if you find yourself with a "Publishing Error," the following solution could help resolve it.

Typically, the publishing error could be caused by a memory issue with large images. Each image you link or embed into the package is set to Raw compression by default. This can cause a memory issue in the editor on publish. A solution is to change the image compression from Raw to Jpeg.

The jpeg/raw parameter will define how the images are compressed inside the SBSAR file.

Using Jpeg compression is perfectly fine in most cases. However, you would not want to use Jpeg compression on normal or height maps as the compression will alter the data.

The default quality for Jpeg (0.0) is the same as using Jpeg 75% quality in Photoshop.

If you don't want to use Jpeg compression, you can also use the batch tools to publish the SBS file to an SBSAR. Using the batch tools, will not produce the same error if it is memory related.
