Substance Painter - Discussions - Creating an animated weave

Hi Guys,
I need to create the effect of fabric being weaved/constructed, some of which I will do with nHair in Maya for extreme close-ups. For mid to long shots I would like to explore the option of having the leading/weaving edge of the fabric animated via a texture. Check out these images;

It could be that it's a matte texture that draws on the weaving, so no need for a super complex weave fill, it's really that animated leading edge that I'm interested in.
Any suggestions on starting points for this? An animated gradient, with an animated noise effect on it's edge perhaps? Is there an existing material that could get me part of the way there?
Thanks in advance.
Darren
