Hi, I had own a perpetual license of designer and painter 2019, I wonder if upgrade to latest version will still a perpetual license for lifetime access?

Hi, thanks for your help, I set to absolute from relative to input in tiling mode, thanks.

Just found a problem of when using HBAO node have a slightly different gray value at the border of the 2d image and are also have a ao gap on the material. this is no problem when view from far away but if look closer to that part will obviously exposed.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Is there have a setting/parameter adjustment to make standard to whole image?

Hallo, welcome to substance forum ;D

Now I have tried another workflow here, which is I add the supporting edges ( subd ) to model before uv, I found that a bit optimize than before without subd include in the uv, especially when the model is view at certain distance the normal seams will not too obviously exposed.

Here's a comparison with or without subd in uv:

When I heard using Blender, I start wondering is they have different computation of tangent space normal for each softwares? Unfortunately, I have no experience in Blender and never touch it before.

Hi, thanks for sharing tutorials, I have watch it. I try to split padding the uv, but still can't get rid of this edge line when I re-bake normal in SP.

I also found this issue is cause by the uv border, so even I split the uv the edge is still exist.

Again, for smoothing group, because I using C4D, so there is no smoothing group function as in Max, It also do not have smoothing groups option in fbx export dialog. But I found a similar setting to smoothing model surface is the Phong tag on every objects.

I set angle to 180 degrees and uncheck "Use edge breaks", apply to all objects.

Is there anyway to smoothing the uv border to fix this edge line when I baking the normal map?

Hi, recently I've been create an model in C4D and want to start texturing in SP, when I bake a normal map I seen some noticeable seams in some area. So I make a test, create a simple cube, uved, export low and high res mesh to SP.

And now have seams or jagged line in some area:

I thought this is uv problem, so I attach a uv screenshot here, is this a good uv for this cube model?

Thanks in advance.

Should I wait winter sale or black friday to buy substance tools on Steam? I afraid all substance tools will no longer exist for purchase on Steam.

I have a few question here:

First, I already purchased a Substance Designer perpetual license about 2 years ago on Allegorithmic website here, can I still have able to continue using this tool in the future? Even Adobe running the subscription payment system, you know, Adobe they don't use perpetual license plan for their products.

Second, is it possible to upgrade my SD to latest version in the future?

Lastly, if I purchase on Steam, how can I upgrade to latest version after the end of the updates stop?

Substance DesignerSubstance Designer - Discussions - Direct3D Engine
 on: December 05, 2017, 03:40:13 pm

I just want to know how can I switch the direct3D 10 engine to direct3D 11 for use in SD? There have a d3d10.dll file in plugin folder, can I get the d3d11.dll file to put inside to this folder?

Another question is, I have a directx 11 installed on my PC, does the direct3D 11 is part of directx 11? I wondering don't have d3d 11 in marmoset toolbag to present my substance, because marmoset toolbag is required d3d 11 to work, right?

I appreciate anyone can help

I'm using 2017.2.2, I try to uninstall and re-install it, even other version ( 2017.2.0, 2017.1.0 ), all have the same issue.

Saturation is set to 1, every setting here is keep in by default, but I only can use the default camera setting, when I switch the Post Effect Enabled to True, the program will crash.
