Probably everything we can say here will not change anything anymore. Most of the reactions were given, and you allegorithmic team heard the general feeling.
I must admit that you have made an effort to continue to respond to this mass of negative opinions (of which I was a part) without giving up. Congratulations on that.

All we can do now is hope that you can resist the steamroller.
And maybe in our wildest dreams hope that you can positively influence the big Adobe.

You have to admit that we are perplexed when you talk about adobe in terms of an innovative company.
The rate of really useful novelty, in the main graphic software (ps, ae, ai) is really deplorable.
I'm a CS6 user, some of my coworker use CC, so I also use it sometimes, and I can really say that the only real "innovation" that made me want to update was the redesign of the brushes in photoshop 2018.
But we can't really talk about innovation since the brush system, hadn't been updated for more than ten years
And even small free or very cheap software (krita (free), paintstorm (excellent 20$), verve (free), or also allegorithmic have already gone much further.

And I still don't forget pixelbender that they threw it in the trash without any scruples.

Can you give me some examples of their innovative side?

No and I won't even try to search. I (and you) am more interested in what WE (the new 3D team) at Adobe, will do.
And please, if we don't deliver, tell us.

This answer leads to a question.

Will you continue to have a dedicated forum, to which YOU (the former allegorithmic team) will answer ?

because I'm going to try to stay constructive and not talk about adobe product support.

We may make changes in the future, as we did several times in the past, and we will do as we always did, by letting you know about it and being fair.

No doubt you will try to do the best.
But once we can no longer install substance as a standalone software with perpetual license, and without the CC crap, many here will gone.
No matter what wonderful things you can do otherwise.

Adobe pays no attention to the work provided by a community.
Look what they did with pixelBender.
They threw it in the trash with the CS6, no matter there was a community that had created a lot of free plug-ins for photoshop, after-effect, flash, illustrator etc....

I hope I'm wrong but I've worked in IT since 1999 (4 years before Allegorithmic was formed I have to point out).

I don't know the details of the deal but I frankly don't think I need to - I've seen the results before.

Same here. I've been through this before.
All begin with nice words and talk, good intentions, and then... come what must happen !

This is sad news.
I do not share the general animosity towards adobe or even its subscription model, and I do not claim to be able to see the future of Substance. But I do have a problem with large shareholder owned tech companies buying more and more smaller, potentially competing companies. I think if our politicians were doing their job, acquisitions like this should be prevented by anti-trust laws. Mergers and acquisitions by ever larger monopolies are not ""exciting news" for customers - competition is.

Sadly its the main way todays.
The only alternative is open source.
It's why from time to time i make donation to the blender foundation even if i'm a C4D user.

And what do you think of this scenario ?

- The substance products are not really general public.
- The people who have the usefulness of these products are rather specialists. And as such they all know about  Allegoritmic.
- so I doubt very much that integration with CC will bring in quantities of new users.
- It is even likely that the number of licenses will fall.

What do you think adobe will do ?

1 finance Allegorithmic in order to "rock" the 3D world.

2 reduce the number of employees in order to maintain profitability.

Have you noticed that some photoshop plug-ins are still the same since photoshop 4.0 (1996)?

That's the adobe way of inovation !

@nmargie This can't be further from the truth though,Adobe has a great track record at integrating companies. Even Photoshop was an acquisition, and the team is still there more than 20 years later.

Maybe, but what I see as an experienced and daily user of afeter effects and photoshop is that
since the first CC we can count on the fingers of one hand the useful novelties.

So where are these innovations hidden ?

PS : And as a French customer I am doubly disappointed !

That would be nice, cause right now the policy seems a little punitive for those who want to operate under a perpetual license.

Like say JohnnyFactor it's possible to get a temporary subscription, but it's a bit annoying.
"Perpetual" choice is not a problem of money, but of continuity. There is no guarantee that SD or SP will remain a tool I need on a daily basis next year. My business can decrease, or my activity center can change but I want to be able to continue to use the software I acquired which is not the case with the subscription, right ?

So not being able to access the source because of this choice seems unfair, while next to that megascan  focuses his strategy on access to a huge library. This lack of access encourages me to look at megascan when I don't want to. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Allegorithmic and its team.
Why can't you just buy points if you need some ?
I know it's probably to encourage people to go for subscription but it's not very fairplay IMO
