How much did Allegorithmic sell out to Adobe for?

How many people have canceled Allegorithmic, since the announcement of the sell out?
I know I did along with my other co workers.

When I first started paying for a subscription the deal was after I paid the $200 or whatever the total was I was suppose to own the software and since then you guys have changed so much nothing has made any sense to me. What ever happened to that ? lol

Yup, try to cancel wants 49.99 actually more for everything, and support just got back with me. I copy and pasted it to your original thread.

Wow, yeh Im mad. Here is what support just sent me.

Hi Chuck, [/size]Thank you for reaching out. Our initial offer was a rent-to-own model, we indeed made some modifications to this offer in June 2017, which you can find detailed here: https://www.allegorithmic.com/faq-substanceThe subscription allowed you always get updates and upgrades of the software throughout the years. If you prefer to get a perpetual license, you could either: - Cancel your subscription and get one perpetual license of all the software for $49. This will give you access to the latest build released today. Please note that this license doesn't come with any maintenance. or - Purchase a perpetual license of Substance Painter or Substance Designer at $149 each, or B2M at $99. These licenses come with 12 months of maintenance. Let me know if you have any questions, Cheers,
Caroline

SubstanceSubstance - Purchases & Licenses - How to cancel?
 on: January 23, 2019, 11:33:33 pm
I want to cancel my subscription. I'm really confused.  Why is it trying to charge me 49.99? to cancel when I have paid out over $900 since March of 2015. I have sent in a support ticket and Im not getting any support.

And you've actually jeopardized the content pipelines of many studios who trusted you and who invested a lot into making their content creating based on substance.
No pipeline has been jeopardized, nothing has changed, and all our studio clients who have contacted us about the news have only had positive things to say.
You can have reservations about the acquisition, but don't speak for other customers.

So what would you recommend for someone like I that will never buy a an Adobe product ever again. I have paid out over $900 india subscription to Allegorithmic. If I cancel now will I still have access to Substance Source to get all my points I have been saving or should I just start downloading all the substance materials I can get?

I am in the exact same boat. My first 19.90 payment was Mar 25 2015 . I would like to know the same.

10
So what is the smart thing to do here? I have been paying $19.90 a month since 11/03/2016 is what my account says but I have been with Allegorithmic since the very beginning, when they first started a monthly plan I joined. I had it out with Adobe and I will never ever buy anything from them,, EVER.... So what to do? Looks like Im out a lot of money?

So I just noticed if I have both texture sizes set to the same as in the gif mine works. http://i.imgur.com/kDlEikH.gifv

Thanks for the work around, I thought I was losing my mind at first.

Hey Daf
WOW! That alone helped out a ton. This is the best I have got so far.
My IOR is default at 1.52
And yes I have to Invert or everything is really shinny.

Somethings are still off ,, you can see it in the pictures but still getting close thanks a lot.

Should I change my camera in MAX? I keep reading that I need a physical camera. Confused on that.
Also Im confused about the Gama settings in MAX . I keep reading to disable Gama.
And one last thing,, the lighting, is there a way to setup some simple lighting?

The picture below you can see the rubber is to shinny

Here it is in SP

Hey Daf57 :)
Thanks for the reply.
Im using the A.R.T. renderer. When I hook up the physical material the roughness doesnt seem to work,, everything is really shinny or glossy. I tried to invert the roughness and still no luck.

I  am exporting out of Substance Painter the Standard PBR  Metallic Roughness .

I dont have Vray.

I have tried everything I can think of but is there any way to get my model to look like it does in Painter but in 3DS MAX. I find a lot people asking about it but seems no one knows. Im using MAX 2017 and Im using the new Physical Material, but its not even close to Painter.

Thanks
Chuck
