So At these moment I can't do any work with new substance painter since it crashes when I try to bake without highpoly mesh. It breaks on AO and Curvature baking. How can I fix these issue?

I am not sure if it has been answered yet but one and only problem that I have with Adobe is that I can't buy subscription directly through webpage. And need to use reseller and the price is DOUBLE the original and no option on monthly payment. Is there anything going on for us guys n gals that aren't in "allowed" adobe subscription countries?


Good question: I guess it will be case by case resolution (don't know for this specific case)

I don't want to believe indie versions are going to dye it seams like it.  Also CC is not available in whole Europe. Basically there are two ways price will only increase. So what I would like to know if there will be 30$ option of allego suite + photoshop because that is all I need. And I don't use photoshop anymore since they sanctioned usage of it for most of Europe countries (talking about photograph plan).

Well if you change to adobe model where my country can use super old version of CS... I have no idea what to do...

It would be nice to be able to use substance designer with pen tablet. Usually I switch between a lot of programs and sometimes it's a hassle to use mouse because designer doesn't play nice with tablet scroll input. Basically some type of switch for nav would be nice, for example pressing alt in graph view could switch pan function to scroll.

If I am not mistaken you can't sell stuff that is part of designer/painter. For example it's ok to use noise from generator on your mesh you are selling but it's not ok to sell the gnerator as sbsar.

It means SD has used all the cache space it is currently allowed to use.

To explain what is the cache: the result of each node is basically a bitmap, to allow the user to quickly visualize the intermediate result of each node (and also speed up the computation in some cases), the image corresponding to nodes are saved to system memory (the ram). So it can fill the ram pretty quickly when you are working with lots of nodes at a high resolution.
When the ram (or at least the ram budget) is full, SD will use the hard drive to store the cache, and this is when you'll notice a performance drop because the bandwidth of the hard drive is way slower than the ram.

You can adjust the amount of ram SD can use in the Preferences.
Thank you for clearification, ill test out if setting to constant value makes difference.

Could someone explain to me what actually memory sign in right bottom corner of SD means? I opened one of Substance Source materials at 4k

And it seams like it's struggling with memory allocation but my system and gpu memories are fine. Below 50% usage.
Also SD becomes quite sluggish. Not sure if the problem is 4k display and 1060 gtx.

I doubt it, once it's in blender, it's just an image mapped PBR, so barring tweaking the resulting image with nodes in the node editor, there's nothing really you could do. Totally different beasts.

There is an addon which allows you to update blender from Substance Painter, but not from Designer, even so, all that does is effectively refreshes the images without you having to reload them manually.

I know that. But. Why can't *.sbsar be loaded in blender? If it also can in unreal engine? Is api code the problem or something else?

I was wondering is there any efficient way to make substance tweak-able inside blender? I know that I can do that in 3ds max but it would be of much greater use in blender 2.8 since it has eevee. I am not sure what are the constrains of license eg is everything you put in it has to be open source?

And If I want to make small changes to the camera just to be more in the screen we can do that?

I think it is implied the third image is rendered with the camera from a custom orientation - this is likely to be your best candidate as well for your other question, such as "close-up" shots.

I wonder because it's stated "at least one screenshot inside the Substance Painter interface." from where? Iray or viewport itself?

Just wondering for posting final submission do we need to add logos on our renders?

Updated the colors and some bits and bolts to design. And I think these will be my final entry. Good luck to everyone!
